In my mind Cinderellas are mid-majors. I wouldn’t apply that label to either us, Miami, or Michigan as we should be able to (fairly) easily draw talent.

My vote is Cinderella's are 11 seeds or worse in the sweet sixteen. So with that I voted yes but I think we were significantly under seeded so I’m not sure it really applies in this situation.

We are beautiful, work harder than anybody else, and are disrespected. Sounds like Cinderella to me.

I guess that makes JP our fairy godmother and TJ our seamstress mouse.
Thanks for making me envision Jamie in dress, ass hole. :mccaffery:

I feel like the season overall is more of a Cinderella season coming off of two wins last year but it just does not feel the same as when you have the entire country cheering for some random mid major team.

Nah. ISU is a phoenix that rose from the ashes of last season to burn bright again.

Absolutely not. A top-25 team (if in any other conference) isn’t a Cinderella. How many games against tournament teams did we play? Ranked in the top-25 until February.

If we had one more offensive threat, we’re probably going into the tournament as a Final Four dark horse.

Watching Creighton-KU’s close game, the difference between teams in tournament is so small. Also, damn if Hawkins and/or Kaluma wouldn’t make this team crazy good

I voted no. Mainly because in non-conference we were ranked, but stumbled in conference play. So we showed the ability to compete, but the wheels kind of fell of the bus for a little bit.

Last year UCLA made the Final Four as an 11 seed. They are kind of a baby blue-blood program, but did anyone call them a Cinderalla? Loyola was an 11 seed in 2018 and made the Final Four. They definitely got the label.

We're somewhere in the middle of those, but who knows exactly where the national media would place us. I would guess we would get more of a "little engine that could" label instead of a true Cinderalla.

I voted yes, but it has more to do with the entire off-season, context, 1 year turnaround than it does with program or national prestige or how well they played thos season.

We’re an interesting case study this year. 11 seed puts us in Cinderella territory based on that alone. But we were also as high as #8 in the country. Undefeated in non-conference. Super high number of Q1 wins. And I would argue would have been top 25 at end of regular season had we not collapsed against K State and Okie State at Hilton.

Our season was about highs and lows. At our best, we’re not a Cinderella. We were projected to be a top 4 seed before we went on losing streak in Big 12. At our worst, you can probably make that argument.

Again, interesting case study and why college basketball is so crazy and fun to follow. Especially in March.

I am saying yes based solely on where the program has come from in the last 12 months. There will always be a 'cinderella' from mid-majors - I don't know that you will EVER see a turnaround like this.
This. The *season* is a Cinderella story. The ncaa tourney is not. This is evidenced by the players reactions as well IMO. They're celebrating but also believing they belong, it's not fortune or luck.

It could be worse. I could have mentioned Bob Huggins.

You're welcome for that vision too.

I votes yes. 11th seed that finished 7th in their conference with a losing conference record of 7-11. Not sure what else you would call us. Especially how bad we played to finish the season out and in KC I didn't even pick us to win a game yet we've knocked off a 6 seed and 3 seed that everyone had us a the underdog in. Add to that we were 2-22 last year too I don't know how else we aren't a Cinderella right now even if we are a P5 conference team.
