tough for a cinderella to be 16-0 in non conference games.

Seems like it's a contest for the national media to hide that nugget. Surprising because it's an interesting angle.

It's been 415 days since Iowa State MBB have lost to a non-Big 12 team . . .

I tweeted Myron Metcalf about it…I doubt it’s often an 11 seed has a 16 game non conf winning streak. Pretty likely it’s never happened or been close to happening.

I don't think any major P6 conference can be a true Cinderella.

A Cinderella (to me) is some team that no one has ever heard of that knocks off a major player in the opening rounds and/or has a deep run into the heart of the tournament. The fact is most people aren't going to jump onto the Iowa State bandwagon when we make it out of the S16.

It's fine. He can seed us 15. Heck, he can seed us 16. This team ain't care.

The only other teams that entered the dance with an unbeaten non conference season are eliminated now. (USC, Colorado St)

LSU's one non conf loss before us was...TCU.

There's a ton of stuff like that if these morons would look at game results instead of just the committee seedings. The league was ridiculously deep in an unprecedented way.

Nebraska maybe since they are the worst major conference programs with miles of separation.

If they got in and won 3-4 games after zero for all time that would be a real story.

Having no NCAA wins is like if ISU was still looking for the first bowl win we got in football in '98.

Cinderella doesn't go 15-0 in the non con while beating 9 power 6 teams. Nope, ISU belongs where they are.

Id say we’re more like a Mulan. Put into a situation where we had to improvise to even get started. We probably got in over our heads a little bit. Nobody took us seriously, but still overachieved against all odds in the end.

Similarly -- Northwestern in 2017, first NCAAT appearance, was cinderella-esque.

And, unlike NU, NU actually won a game.

Then I found the novelty wore off about halfway through the round-of-32 game. :)

This is an easy answer for me. If a blue blood had the same conditions as us, would they be a Cinderella? We belong, the talking heads just hate the Big 12.

An 11 seed that won 2 games the entire year before? That is definitely a Cinderella story, especially if they can get to the elite 8.

Those two seasons aren't even related at this point though.

Calling a P6 team a Cinderella is 'little brother' type of stuff.

'Look at little Iowa State playing with the big boys'.

They've made 'big boys' hate playing them, not some 'well they just hit shots'.
