PD2 you can try to act like I don't know what I'm talking about and I was trying to give you a fair shake, but since you don't want to do that, Theshadow just quoted exactly what KJ himself said. Now I sit front at the meets and I have a perfect view of the bench. And from what I seen Mr. Downey didn't seem to be in to much pain while joking around and getting up and down from his seat.
That's a BIG difference between wrestling a #5 ranked guy with a bum ankle. Come on man, didn't you ever play any sports?

You can infer some things from these comments but you really don't know what's going on. Yet, you want to assume the worst, don't you? A failing of character. The program has been plagued by this stuff all season. Fans actively wishing for the fall of the coach, and now one of the wrestlers? Wow. I may have to rethink my contribution to CWC.
Amen. They're all troll know-it-alls.

PD2 - Regardless what PD3 does this year, and next year - I wish him a bright future and appreciate him being a Cyclone. I really appreciate you on here and not hiding who you are like many of us can take advantage of.

Wrestlers need the swagger - and I also 100% know that the parents do as well.
Thank you. PD3 came here to win and keep alive the Cyclone tradition. Things don't always work out the way you want.

What's your point? I'm sure you're intelligent enough to distinguish between wrestling with a bum ankle against #5 Boyd vs some unranked nobody. You ever had a severely sprained ankle? You guys troll away on here, pretending to know what's going on. It's comical.
So now your throwing the coach that gave your son a chance under the bus? Appears the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

Seriously you're worried about his twitter usage. If that isn't a "get off my lawn response", I don't know what is.

Fact is PD3 is by FAR ISU's best wrestler and that isn't even debatable, if he wants to have fun on twitter well guess what that's what college kids do.

Amen. I've been warning him about social media since its inception. I guess he thrives on the attention, and being that he's been out with injuries most of the season, I suppose the attention deficit syndrome is in overdrive. He's only trying to make the sport and his matchups more exciting. Anyone who thinks that PD3 didn't want to wrestle every possible match this year and thereby be in contention for the Hodge has absolutely lost their marbles. For those of you who only think you know him, I can tell you...they don't come much tougher.

Have you fell and hit your head? You talk in riddles. You make no sense whatsoever. Go eat your popcorn. My son will wrestle when he's able. I'm sorry you miss seeing him compete so much.

"Face value" means ignoring the context in regard to the whole of Downey's actions and statements both prior to and after the Jackson quote. To go on and on about pinning this guy and dominating that guy and generally running a lot of smack -- and then your coach says that you didn't want to wrestle because you might get hurt based on the opponent's style of wrestling. That throws up a giant red flag.

Then to hop on social media and state that duals are just practice matches and don't matter -- WHILE the rest of his teammates were currently competing in said dual -- is a slap in the face to the rest of the team.
Yeah, its a slap in the face to your team when you weigh in at 184 and wrestle up at 197. I don't know what you guys are smoking, but its turning your brains to mush. His decision not to wrestle Boyd had nothing to do with Boyd's 'style', but everything to do with the fact he's ranked #5...you know, he's not a pushover scrub and therefore would require much more stress on the ankle. I really wonder if any of you ever played sports. SMH

What you don't understand is I actually like to see him wrestle, that's the sad part.

@PD2 so it is an ankle...he is rehabbing to be ready for March? What's he doing to get his gas tank up? Share with us since you keep claiming everyone doesn't know what's really going on so please inform us so we do.

Edit: Follow up what do you have to say about the talk going around about him being at a casino drinking or him smoking a joint? I have no issue with someone being of age drinking however if what is being said is true (multiple people on multiple sites claiming so) don't you think the focus a MONTH out from Big12's and the dance should be on wrestling and everything need to do what he set out for himself, and do what we as fans want to see him do..NCAA Champ?

I honestly have not spoken to him in several weeks. I'm not a fan of his social media ********. I know that he's a very good black jack player and does pretty well. As far as the other extra curricular activities, I hope they're not true. He knows what he needs to do to be ready. He's been at this since the age of 5. If he doesn't know what it takes by now, shame on him.

Yeah, its a slap in the face to your team when you weigh in at 184 and wrestle up at 197.

Career at ISU
Duals at 197: 4
Duals at no weight: 19

Frankly, he needs to put a lid on it until he actually sets foot on the mat. I think you know that.

Yep. I couldn't agree more. But, he's a grown man and is making his own bed. Life by the sword, die by the sword.

Lets try to remember that he passed 19 credits last Fall semester in order to become eligible the last half of the season. We're very aware that he hasn't had two full seasons.

I think social media can be a major distraction, but it is what it is. Its apart of sports culture today.
The only question I really care about is if PD3 will be wrestling at the Big 12 tourney. The Hodge is gone, but an ncaa title is still a possibility. But he obviously has to wrestle at the conference tourney to keep the possibility alive.

So will PD3 wrestle in March for ISU?
