If you think kids aren’t told you aren’t going to see any minutes here, I don’t know what to tell you. A freaking slow footed walk on saw minutes against ole Miss but a kid who may be the most athletic on our team and had played a decent amount seasons before doesnt isn’t non verbally being told to leave?

Nojas has not entered to people’s knowledge but one of the coaches best friends reports the day after the loss that he’s going to enter……I wonder where this info probably came from?
I’d like to think that, after the Gilbert-dad-NIL rumor fiasco that we just went through when’s young man was publicly and wrongly dragged through the mud that maybe we’d learn to slow our roll when it comes to jumping to conclusions and presenting them as fact.

Apparently not.

Love the vagueness. Which part am I way off on? Nojas was reported to be entering on a podcast, hasn’t. I didn’t make any of that up.

Kelderman is slow, no denying that. Is that what chaffs your rump?

It’s gotta be that TJ had kids leave. If he doesn’t, he would be the only D1 coach that doesn’t. So what conclusion am I jumping to? Must be that not playing a kid when his best skills could be used is NOT telling a kid you aren’t going to be playing here.

Where am I mistaken and what kid am I dragging through the mud?

You are implying that playing Watson gave us the best chance to win, but because TJ wanted to send him the message that he should transfer he decided to let him sit. Was that your intention?

When a team is on a 20-2 run you also don’t put in a Defensive liability, but in went kelderman.
How could the coach of a perennial Top 10 program make such a boneheaded mistake? He must have no idea what he’s doing and doesn’t know anything about how to most effectively use the players available to him. Actually he must have been trying to lose the game

I don't know how you listen to that podcast, care about isu sports and STILL trash individual players. Blum said straight up that trashing players DID have an effect this year. Be better.

Eli King was a miss (and he was a highly regarded 4 star) and Watson has been stuck behind better older players, but as far as the others it’s really too early to tell. They need time to develop, but as I said they were all pretty much highly recruited 4 star (& one 5 star) recruits. Look we’re not going to sign multiple 5 star McDonalds All Americans that are going to contribute right away. I think TJ can recruit quality high school talent and you obviously don’t so just leave it at that.
I'm not even sure he was a miss. He has started almost every game he has played at North Dakota since leaving Ames. Sure he transferred down a level, but he wanted to play, clearly, and his path to more playing time at ISU was going to take another year or two than he would've liked. I'm guessing he would've been in the regular rotation this season considering Kelderman played as much as he did.

Do you think Watson and Cade play the same position? You think Watson is going to be able to bring the ball up the court and initiate offense?
Who cares if they play the same position? Why do people keep saying that? Lipsey or CuJo (or even Heise) could bring the ball up the court with Watson in the lineup. Watson is athletic and is a decent player. Kelderman is a walk-on who had no business playing in the NCAA tournament, even with Gilbert being out. He seems like a good kid, and I'm happy for him that he got that experience, but still...

Since Watson is not much of a scoring threat, he could have been on the floor with CuJo and Milan. Something like this.....

PG Lipsey
SG CuJo
WING Watson
F Milan
F/C Jefferson or Jackson

What is wrong with that lineup for 7-8 minutes a game? I'm sure TJ had his reasons for not playing Watson, but I would like to know those reasons.

Pav has played well at Ohio this year, 13.8/4.1/4.8 on 51% shooting in 32 minutes per game, that’s great for a small guard. His game seems to have changed a bit, his three-point shooting is down both in attempts and makes (shot 32% on 1.9 attempts per game).

I think Watsons athleticism would have helped us, for whatever reason TJ didn’t care for Watson this season. It wasn’t just the one game, but it was the most glaring game and if Watson didn’t know by then that he wouldn’t see the court next year, it was a complete kick to the face. So, no it wasn’t just TJ sitting him that one game to tell him, it happened most of the season. I’m saying it was the most glaring game of all season.

So it’s kelderman. He’s the only one I said anything negative about and saying he slow is trashing him. There are a lot of people who must cry after a boss tells them they must do better than they did. These kids get paid more than most people on this board, they aren’t amateurs anymore, they are semi pro.

If you looked at his highlights when we brought him in, he was really good at getting to the rim and making plays in the paint. I think the bigger, faster stronger athletes he faced here kind of negated that part of his game.

Dude, they consider what you said trashing kelderman. They fear he may leave, and will tell you to do better.

I have a feeling our roster is going to look something like this.
Four returning
Four coming in
Three portal guys receiving NIL
Kelderman gets an open scholarship
A few portal guys the are intended as practice squad or emergency minutes

I agree, but taking the money, and playing D1 basketball, along with checking social media has consequences now for these guys. It’s not going to go away. It’s an occupational hazard now. No fan base is going to be able to get rid of it.

If this is a fact, it is verifiable. Do you have evidence for this? No? Then it is conjecture, presented as fact.

Kids to want to speculate, then whatever. But please don’t go around acting as if this is absolute truth unless you can prove it. That’s all I’m saying.

After Gilbert was policy dragged for stuff presented as fact that apparently wasn’t, I would hope we would do better.

When are some of you going to understand what it takes to get on the court with TJ? Go back and listen to TJ describing Cade's daily habits. If TJ lets Watson on the floor with less than stellar daily habits- then what is the incentive to improve said daily habits? It is like a good route running receiver who cannot get on the field because he refuses/will not block down field. Watson and the rest all know what is required to get playing time. Now if there are accusations that TJ refuses to play certain players no matter how compliant they are- I have not heard of any.
