Al Roker called the Iowa band the Iowa State Hawkeyes while introducing them in the rose bowl parade. Hilarious. Them got immediately attacked on twitter. Sure is kissing up now.

My cousin(who is a Hawk fan) always gets bent out of shape when this happens. I've pointed out that the national media outside of Iowa really doesn't pay a ton of attention(obviously!!) and always get the two schools mixed up.
Correct. The national media doesn't know or care about Iowa or Iowa State. Just how it is. We think Iowa State and Iowa are HUGE deals because we don't have any pro sports in Iowa.

I think so. No matter where you go in the state, there is always someone wearing ISU or UI apparel. We pack the stadiums to watch, as there is nothing better to do (sports wise) in Iowa.
This is why national media pundits like Colin Cowherd don't like Iowa. For example,Cowherd believes that talking about Iowa Hawkeye football for five minutes is five minutes wasted.
Are any Hawkeyes upset that the next graphic during the parade misspelled the word, "University?" Or did any of them even notice? Or realize it was misspelled?
It's pretty sad that Iowa fans are attacking a meteorologist on Twitter. He had to follow up with this tweet.

It is a farce. It is a three hour commercial for giant corporations that pay professional float builders hundreds of thousands of dollars for a few seconds of TV exposure. The'volunteers' that help build the floats are nothing more than free labor.
