Iowa State earns a commitment from Tulane WR transfer

Only on CF can you sidetrack a commitment thread to an "I smoked dope with an athlete" thread in so few posts :):):)

OK, I'll play: Shared a doobie with Luther Blue
I smoked dope with Danny Harris (rip) while wearing his Olympic Silver Medal.

Iowa State got another big-time transfer portal commitment tonight. This time, it is Tulane WR Omari Hayes. Check out Hayes below.

Is this really considered "big time"? Seems like each of these transfers is trying to be sold to us as a huge get. Then come the 2026 season we end up with a bunch of fans throwing these kids under the bus when they dont put up huge numbers of play up to the level we were sold on.

Could some of these kids be good? Absolutely. But Ive yet to see one transfer that made me think "Damn, that's a huge difference maker". Right now its mostly "Eh, he's young so perhaps that's why he's not played a lot of put up huge numbers".

You may not be looking at every piece. One thing most people are ignoring is where they came from, most are from either traditional successful programs or teams that have been winning. It seems small but I can tell you from experience that when a team routinely loses, that culture gets ingrained in players. It’s tough to flip.

The last offensive lineman that we have put in the NFL was a transfer (Travis) from Princeton who is now with the Colts. I agree that some of these could be big swing misses, but think all will be stars. A good number that transferred out are totally unproven, who could be duds for Pedo State.
