I'm going to mix it with the cold brew coffee and piss myself to death.
FYI We Will gets a portion of each bottle sold!
I’m not a vodka expert but it’s actually pretty solid in my opinion.
Iowa Distilling makes great vodka. If it’s anything like their Zone it will be very popular
Another ISU branded beverage coming out, this time a bourbon whiskey called Gridiron. It benefits the Cyclone Gridiron Club, looks to be made with Century Farms Distillery out of Spencer, IA.
I wanted to try this and the manager at Hy-Vee spirits Merle Hay in Johnston said they don't have it, but he put it in his liquor order for me that he was in the middle of ordering. Case of 6 are coming on Fri.
Morale of my story: you want your local place to carry something ISU beverage wise? ASK THEM and they will probably order it. I'm going in late Fri or early Sat and grabbing a couple bottles!
I've seen it at the Grimes Hy-Vee, but it's more than I want to spend - want to say ~$60+.
Yeah he said it's $60. I haven't had it, but it'll come down to the quality of it whether it's worth the price. Pretty much any whiskey or bourbon under $30 is going to be garbage so no sense in wasting time with it.
Most that I purchase are in the $30-$70 range anyway. So it might be a little more than Bulleit/Makers Mark/Woodford Reserve/etc. But if it's quality and helps ISU rather than a big national distillery, I'm cool with an paying extra $5-$15 over my regular purchase. Sure hope it's quality like the other ISU or We Will products. (Fabled popcorn, We Will pizza, Ames Lager, Blood Round, Forever True, etc.)
You'll have to report back with what you think. I have a hard time believing it's as good as (let alone $20 better than) a Four Roses Single barrel, but will give it a shot if I hear that anyone loves it.
Suggested retail on that is $49.99, but if you get it on sale, always nice.
