Year after year I see this comment and I don’t understand it. Is it just a way to belittle Iowa?
It’s their Super Bowl but not ours? We’re above that? They don’t care as much about the rest of their games after week 2?
It’s an intense non-con rivalry- both sides want to win. Both sides really, really want to win, but it’s non-conference and very early season. I guess there are potential playoff implications, but how is it a Super Bowl in week 2?
I’d love to see ISU blow them out. Iowas LB’s will have their hands full with the ISU TE’s, and I think ISU is equipped to stop the run better this year.
That said, it’s a rivalry game, and we haven’t won in Ames since 2011. Don’t love our chances, however if we lose, it will definitely be Iowas best win of the year

Seems weird to me the line is Iowa State -2.5, essentially saying Iowa would be favored on a neutral field. I really think Iowas offense is going to struggle big time. Probably will score on the opening drive making people crap their pants, with little success after that. Next weekend doesn’t worry me, which is very rare for Cyhawk week.

After ISU broke it's 15 year losing streak to Iowa, each time we won the rivalry game, Hawkeye fans claimed it was only because we treated the game as our Super Bowl while Iowa treated it as just another game (incredibly arrogant).
They backed it up by pointing out how after we beat them we always did worse the rest of the season than they did (never mind that we always had one of the toughest strength of schedules in the nation while they played in the cushy Big 10 West).
The reality is this game means no more to our players and coaches than it does to theirs, but they are the ones who claimed it does. So it's fun to stick it back in their faces.
If you haven't learned this by now, Iowa has NEVER lost a game because the other team is simply better than they are.
Good lord we haven't beaten Iowa by 10+ since the 23-3 win 20 years ago.
It will be Iowa's super bowl this year. They know they stink this year, but they will look like a top 10 team next week. Little brother grew up and now big brother is a loser.
