***Iowa Pregame Thread***

I could see a lot of scenario's playing out, even thinking the worst and I know full well how these games get weird. However, ISU getting blown out would absolutely SHOCK me.
This. While there is some (small) chance we lose, getting blown out is incredibly unlikely.

So, most Iowa fans ive interacted with arent confident at all, and most ISU fans Ive talked too are? This feels like a recipe for ISU to get blown out

No idea what to think for this weekend. Rivalry games are weird
Oh they won't get blown out, Iowa can't score enough to blow out anyone with a pulse.

But I agree, lots of confidence actually makes me nervous. Plus the home team always seems to play tighter in this series. Please sweet baby jesus let the Clones win by 20.

I don't care what the spread is or who is favored because it will always be ugly and close. However, I would love a year where it feels like we are just in control and the better team from start to finish.
Playing against Iowa is like playing Bob Huggins' press Virginia. Even if you win, it is ugly and frustrating that you want to pull your hair out at times.

Just like how we’ll always struggle early in the season, winning ugly against FCS teams, huh?

Gronowski is a 2nd RB.. it’s what he did at SDS. He’s 235lbs.

My concern is our 3 man front with DEs who have been honestly poor in run stopping to date. If Willich is out that hurts even more.

My next concern is Zamir Hawk. We will need him and if we don’t have him..well.. I’m concerned.

Nothing about Iowa WRs worries me. Their TEs are solid but not elite like normal.

And like others have mentioned win the TO battle.

We held K-State to 110 rushing yards on 27 carries and USD to 82 yards on 21 carries. LOL what exactly did this defensive line do poorly?

Ferentz is setting us all up beware. Rocco stock all time high, Gronowski stock at all time low, South Dakota ran at will against ISU in the 1st half, Rocco threw a ball right into the lap of a KSU defender in Week 0, if Heacock is the professor, Parker is the wizard and Iowa OL looking in mid season form.

All I want our DL to do is consume 4 of their blockers. Then let the LBs, Neal and company deal with Gronowski.

Stack the box, take away the run as best you can, and make Gronowski beat you is the defensive game plan I'd go with.

And unless we turn it over or do a bunch of dumb ****, I still don't think that's enough to beat this team. But rivalry games are weird.

They really didn’t “run it at will”. They ran for 60 yards in the first half with over 50% of it coming on the first drive.
