***Iowa Pregame Thread***

I like the fact this team has been tested in the Ireland game. This year's Iowa team has not. If Gronowski was nervous playing at home in front of a Hawkeye crowd against Albany...we'll see how he plays in front of an opponent's FBS crowd. I hope he has jitters.
Gronk is going to have trouble concentrating from the noise. Especially from our new PA announcer who has that crazed constipated scream whenever it was third down.

I am always in for good Hawkeye marching band humor.

I mean, you know they’re going to get bull headed, take a wrong turn, and wind up in RV Village, right?

I mean, just picture how in two years, they wind up at the stage in CyTown!
That would be trespassing lock them up.

Yeah. First possession, if we get em 3rd an long send the house. Our just have 8 in cover. Yep

Kiba worried about our DL vs their OL, especially trying to stop the run.

Our DL just needs to eat up bodies so the LBs can make plays. We aren’t going to stop their run with the 3 man front. The LBs and the safeties will need to support the run stoppage and be better at securing tackles than they were to open the game last week.

The Hlas column in this morning's CR Gazette is about a "fan favorite" special teams player from Eastern Iowa.

And we’re now using stats that have nothing to do with this year’s teams. This Iowa team wouldn’t have won any FCS championships.

On a side note, that’s gotta make Gronowski be confused to step up to a P4 level and be on a worse team than the one he left.
The EIU QB has to be better than what he looked like on Saturday, maybe it was nerves, or he is injured. Could also be that things are moving to fast for him still when better athletes are all over the field compared to the level he was at last season.

Stop the run, and do not turn the ball over to give them easy points and we win. We have the better team, it's really that simple.

The weird thing is that the only better athletes than what he might be used to were on his own team, and given where he came from, even that is debatable.

Their QB play will likely be better just on account of if he's not cramping.

Thought it was interesting, Heacock said they game planned the first 3 games over the summer in an interview last week. They knew Iowa would have all kinds of tape to look at post k state and what they probably thought was going to be a tough SD team. Will be interesting to see if they attack Iowa differently or what wrinkles they throw at them.

With how much he had to run to beat Albany, he’d better be chugging those Gatorade pregame drinks. It’s gonna be a long season
