Iowa pees down it’s leg

Doesn't take much. The Big10 conference has some of the worst quarterbacks in P4.

sure, but they do have good defensive players. 5 of the 6 players for Iowa that won the award are either still playing in the NFL or just retired (Hyde)

I don’t pay attention to Iowa enough to know their schedule. That appears more difficult than their normal schedule, but we’ll see
Its not their typical pillow soft B10 west schedule, lets put it that way. This season they missed 3 out of the 4 teams that finished at the top of the conference. Next year they get all of them except Ohio State.

lol ok. The Big 10's defensive back of the year award has been around for 14 years. An Iowa player has won it 6 times.
Did Wampa win it this year? Does it seem like he's going to in the next 2 years?

Maybe 6. 7 seems like a stretch for a defunct offense and defense that seems to be taking a step back. Going to be hard to punt their way to wins next year.

Other than mighty Albany and UMass, I don't think I see any other games where Iowa will be the projected favorite at the beginning of the season.

Gonna go out on a limb and say Iowa doesn't qualify for a bowl next year. I would also predict Kirk gets paid to "retire" at the end of a very long season, but I'm skeptical Iowa will have the cash to make that happen.

The hawk fans I talked to last night feel like Sullivan is the second coming of Jesus Christ, with respect to what they’re used to. I told them the point Hassel made in the 10 minutes of his reaction show I listened to that it’s all good that he’s competent but there’s zero chance he’s healthy for 7-8 games at the VERY best with how he plays. You have to find another one and Kirk as proven to have next to no ability to do that.
Honestly, I don’t think he can stay healthy or effective for 5.

IMO you are setting yourself up for disappointment. Iowa will no doubt beat up on lower level B10 teams by sitting around waiting for them to screw up and then kick a fg to win.

This is going to be an interesting part of the new era of college football. Instead of going to your whale donors to buyout a coach or raise money for a building/bridge once a decade now you are asking for NIL constantly.

This is exactly the scenario where Kirk traditionally pulls a contract extension out of the hat. I’m calling 8-4 with a bowl win over a mid-pack SEC team.

Here is my prediction for their season. I'm not sold on Wiscy, USC, MSU or Minn being very good. I am also of the opinion that Indiana has to "prove" that this year wasn't a fluky year (sort of like TCU a couple of years ago). The fact that Iowa gets their toughest conf games at home also helps them.IA25.png

Can predict Iowa's season next year right now, frankly - predict every season as long as KF remains there:

1) Handily beat a couple of patsies. Some obscure player will have a huge game or two and be held up for Heisman contention. Starting to check price of CFP tickets.
2) Lose to ISU. Start preliminaries for KF lynching.
3) Beat wimpy B1G Brethren or two. Checking those CFP ticket prices again.
4) Get demolished by B1G top division team. Pitchforks are now sharpened.
5) Beat another B1G West pretender. New QB or RB has a decent game. Should of played them earlier, would be undefeated.
6) Lose to a lower end B1G Team. Torches lit.
7) Make bowl game against their doppelganger SEC pretender. Chance to tune up the team for a real run next year.
8) Lay an egg in the bowl game.
9) Wash/Rinse/Repeat
10. Blame the refs and claim they should be 12-1.

I really think they lose to USC, they don't do well in California, Not sure about Wisconsin, but hope the Badgers can win.

Is Riley still the coach? Will he upgrade the defense? If the answer is "yes" to the first and "no" to the second, I think Iowa has a very good chance to win - hence my prediction. However, you may very well be correct (which I hope happens, btw).

That had to be one of the worst QB "sneaks" I've ever seen. It may have taken 2 full seconds for their QB to move, which makes it tough to gain positive yards in that scenario.

I don't think Sullivan would have gotten it going straight forward. That defensive guy timed the jump over the line perfectly. He would have run right into him and been knocked backward.

Your secondary was pretty bad this year. Maybe just a down year or maybe he’s entering the Hayden era of his career with Kirk.

The correct answer would have been for your starting RB next year to catch the flare out pass for a 1st Down on the 3rd Down Play. Can't imagine why the QB and receivers don't have a good connection and confidence in this offense.

Are Desmond King and Josh Jackson still playing? I thought they were both done.
