Inside Out Movie

My wife doesn't care for animated, but she absolutely loved Up (rightly so), but I'm thinking I can talk her into this one.

Uggh.. Not saying I hated UP.. But the beginning montage put me in such a bad mood it really did in the movie for me.

I do want to see this one as well.

That one critic is just trying to stand out from the rest and make a name for himself.

For all its clever touches, the personified emotions plot still feels like a story the school psychologist would've used to teach kids about their feelings. It feels simultaneously infantilized and aimed over kids' heads.

My daughters are begging to see this, and I'm looking forward to it as well. Not sure I want to go on opening weekend and deal with the crowds, though.

Just got back from seeing the early Thursday showing. The praise is well justified, this is easily Pixar's best film in years! Loved every bit of it.

Sitting in Flix brewhouse getting ready to see it with my daughter right now. Flix is pretty cool so far.

Entertaining movie. My 4 year old daughter enjoyed it. Good fathers day movie to take your kid to. Lewis Black as anger is genius casting. In fact, the voice acting for all the emotions was fantastic. Well done.

Caught it this afternoon. A lot of the dialogue was for the adults while the animation was for the kids. Really nicely done by Pixar. Pretty heavy subject tackled with comedy

Took my wife and four year old to Flix to see it last night. As far as finding a balance that keeps kids and adults entertained, nobody does it better than Pixar. Fun movie, good cast, and a nice message.

We went as a family. All loved it and all emotional. One of Pixar's best.

And might I add the short at the beginning 'LAVA' was great as well. Very sweet.

I thought Lava was absolutely creepy. Girl volcano stalks guy volcano several thousand years older than her for several hundred years, then role reversal - then the stalkers fall in love with one another.

Saw it Sunday. How in the hell is this movie 98% fresh at Rotten Tomatoes? I nearly fell asleep. My 12 year old wasn't impressed either.

so i take it you're a 2%er

Yep. Exactly what I was thinking too. It probably hurt me that I went into the movie knowing about the reviews. I wasn't interested in seeing the movie at all until I saw those reviews.

Then again, it really feels like every since Disney purchased Pixar, the better movies have been getting made under the Disney name and not Pixar. It doesn't help that so many of Pixar's films have been sequels. Of the recent movies they have made, I refused to watch Toy Story 3 or Cars 2 because sequel. Brave was terrible, and Monsters University was bad. Inside Out was actually good. It just wasn't 98%. Big Hero 6, Wreck-It Ralph, and Tangled are all far better any recent Pixar movie.

Edit: Gold standard continues to be The Incredibles.

OK, I thought that Wreck-It Ralph was just awesome. Maybe it's the video game references, but I thought that was a good animated movie. Tangled was really good too. Brave was decent. Big Hero 6 was just OK. I didn't like Up at all. And I thought that this Inside Out looked stupid. I'd rather go see the Minions movie. Don't know what that says about me but oh well.

Toy Story 3 is the best of the three hands down. The original Pixar movies (non-sequel) are all top notch in my opinion. Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, and Wall*E are all great.
