In-state FB recruiting

So, coming out of the June camps, obviously things have changed. Anyone want to debate some rankings?

1. Amara Darboh, WR, WDM Dowling - Most people think that ND is the frontrunner, but Florida, Michigan and Nebraska are in the mix. IMO ISU and iowa fans are resigned to the notion of him going out of state.
2. Barkley Hill, RB, CF - Offers from ISU and iowa keep him in this spot...barely.
3. Charles Rogers, WR/DB, IC West - Minny offer makes him a solid 3rd. If he gets an MSU or iowa offer, he's moving up to 2nd.
4T. Kane Seeley, LB, Perry - Best LB in the state? I'd say yes considering the ISU offer and the fact that Rhoads has been pretty good at scouting in-state LBs lately.
4T. Michael Malloy, RB/ATH, SC Heelan - Iowa offer moves him into a tie for 4th. No idea why that kid isn't committing on the spot.
6. James Harrington, WR, CF - A KSU offer isn't the same in this state as ISU or iowa. If one of those two were to offer, he'd jump into the top 3.
7. Nate Shaw, LB, Bett - Has 1AA offers and supposedly iowa is high on him. I could see him ending up a preferred walk-on in IC.
8. Tim Kilfoy, DB/LB, Davenport - Has a 1AA offer at least.
9. Colin Bevins, DE, Creston - A pretty good wrestler who had a decent camp at ISU.
10. Keevon Bernstine, DB, DM Lincoln - Is his family history keeping people away or is he just a little short for schools to offer this soon?

Maybe we are delusional but I do not think most Iowa fans are resigned to him going out of state. Certainly ND may lead but he has been to IC many, many times and reportedly likes the Hawks. Also I have read his Mom wants him to play close to home, but really who knows

I was just told that young Mr Hill really likes CPR, and when Iowa offered he said "thanks for the offer, but I am going to Iowa State". The person who told me knows Barkley, and will be a FR on the ISU football team this fall. His team eliminated Barkley`s team in the playoffs last fall.

Yeah, that could have been explained some. ISU didn't offer coming out of camp. Iowa did. I didn't mean it like "he should commit to iowa because there's no way he'll get any offer that's better than that". I meant that he only has one offer and ISU passed, so he better jump on that before iowa fills it with someone else. If Malloy waits until after the season, there's no way that iowa holds that spot for him. Same thing for Rogers with ISU...he better not expect that spot to be sitting for him in December, because it won't be. Players with 1-2 offers don't get to string things along until Signing Day.

I'm one of many iowa fans who think all Iowa recruits are Iowa's if we offer. I'm so arrogant and have my head so far up my *** that I think Darboh is a lock to Iowa. I hide behind the screen name of AllIowaTeams but really I'm a self-conscious Iowa fan who wants to feel accepted on this board because I dont fit in at HawkeyeNation. The only thing more annoying and arrogant than the other hawk fans and I are cornhusker fans.

The poster is echoing the same thing that has been said many times over. Hill is committed to ISU and Iowa has moved onto their second instate RB target with Malloy.

Obviously, nothing is finalized until February.

I have little to no worries about Hill changing his commitment to Iowa.

So because you haven't personally heard or read anything along those lines there is no possible way it could be true? Seriously.

It's a problem because you have no knowledge of the situation or at least haven't informed us that you do, and you are telling someone that the whole conversation was fabricated. If you have had a different discussion, feel free to share but when I hear the same thing at 4 different places by 4 different people, I am going to be inclined to believe it.

Besides that, what's he going to say to back it up? "Yeah, that's what I heard."? I am pretty sure nobody is tape recording the conversations Barkley Hill is having with people. I'm not really upset but we don't get a lot of info like that around here and this is sort of the reason why. If no one will believe them, why share it?

The fact that you even have to say or think this just proves how out of touch with reality you are. It's the very reason why Cyclone fans can't stand you guys. It's hok fan in a nutshell.

Nothing is official until the LOI is signed. But somebody said one thing that wasn't even bad about the hawks, and you still saw your bat signal, and had to come running to be a ****.

As far as in-state recruiting, it's a down year. But, I have seen Hill play, and he is a hard worker. If he doesn't get hurt, he will maximize his talents because of his work ethic.

I have never been one to worry about in state kids anyways. I watched too many UNI recruits play for mac the mediocre so he could spin how many instate kids he had on the roster. At this point, we aren't going to beat iowa for most any instate kid. We need to make this a destination. But that happens with winning.
