Toss part of it up to the media in this country constantly hammering the negative. Frankly, I'm amazed the Iowa mess hasn't exploded nationally yet for that very reason.

It's because Iowa is NOT a national power program, no matter what they believe. The fact of the matter is, hardly anyone outside this state or the Big Ten gives two craps about what happens to the Hawks.
