After a Windows Vista update ran last night I restarted my computer and it appears that all my info and programs are gone. I have never made a backup and I am hoping i am not SOL on this. It even popped up congratulating me on my new purchase. Dell wants to charge me for support and Microsoft's support is non existent. Just about ready to take it to Best Buy but figured I would try hear first. Anyone have any ideas or things I could try?

Thanks

What do you see when you click on the Start button?

Try something, go to your C drive, locate the Users folder. Go in there, do you see your profile? If your update happened to corrupt your profile, it very well have made another one called Temp or something like it that you are currently logged in as. If it did that, your old profile should still be intact and it will be listed. If you want, you can list the folders in the Users folder in a pm to me and I might be able to tell.

Have you tried doing a System Restore to a previous date? If that's an option for you, it could flush out your problem.
