Humpty Dumpty is technically a nursery rhyme, but I agree that there are some dark fairy tales out there-- especially The Juniper Tree..

We had to learn and recite a poem in junior high. A buddy of mine and I thought we should do Casey at the Bat even though it was longer than it needed to be so we got permission to split it up. I was prepared, he was not so I got a lot of time to think about what my next stanza was while he was fumbling around on his turn. It isn't very useful for me today since I only learned every other stanza...

The outlook wasn't brilliant for the Mudville nine that day;​
