I don't know if Iowa has EVER won one of the XC head to head. They will sometimes have a half decent track team, but for some reason, they peak at mid tier in XC.

They've gotten good at track on the backs of sprinters and throwers. Not a great distance program which makes sense with Joey Woody's background.

I believe in the 15 years that the CH series has actually kept score the ISU men are 15-0 and the ISU women are 13-2.

I don't want to jinx the teams but poorly timed injuries or a bug going through the team at the wrong moment could happen.

Personally I will take nothing for granted.

EDIT: I'll defer to the Shadow's numbers. See what Wiki gets you? Incorrect and/or outdated information. But the point stands, even excellent athletic teams are not immune to bad luck/injuries/illnesses. No counting chickens here.

Yeah that is almost impossible to lose in a track event when the other team just don't have guys as fast as our guys.

Generally yes, but an ill timed illness spreading through the team could decimate their chances. It is never a sure thing.
