If this rivalry (Farmageddon if you like) doesn't already have a trophy...it never will. It is so obviously set up for a trophy; the schools have essentially identical profiles and have been playing football since the Big Six (before that I presume) and they're close together in P5 terms. I mean, how we haven't been playing for a pitchfork or bushel basket or something for 100 years is honestly surprising to me.
I'd love a trophy for this game...but not a contrived "sponsored by CASE IH or Pioneer" trophy. Just a simple farm hand tool or something nostalgic like that could be very cool.

Sooo...did anyone actually email Jamie? Are the powers that be at each school even interested in obtaining a physical trophy?
Since both schools claim to be the first land-grant college, I think the winner of each year's football game should get to have their claim undisputed for that year.
(If my memory serves, we were the first to accept the terms of the Morrill act, while they were the first to actually open their doors, so in a sense both claims are true).

Didn't the CyHawk trophy start because some random people decided to raise money to build a trophy?

Iirc the original CyHawk, the one for the the resumption of the series in '77(?) was bought and paid for by some guys in Des Moines who just made up The Des Moines Athletic Club, LLC or something...
Point being; there might have to be somebody to force ISU/KSU's hand. Just tell them (the ADs?) we have a trophy. They can decline it or not.
First, KSU's claim is silly.
Second, this is a good idea...a good trophy would be a bust of Morrill himself. Similar to UI/Minn playing for Floyd. We could just call it the Justin (Justin Smith Morrill).
EDIT: July 2022 marks the 160th anniversary of the Act.
