How do our facilities compare to others?

Do your sources also "expect" Iowa State to make it to a bowl game?

Let's get a list of possible excuses out of the way now so when we win 3 games you have nothing left to say other than you were dead wrong.

Too many injuries?
Not even donations?
Team lacks experience?
Coach Rhoads got fired?
SEZ added a dimension to the kicking game Stormin hadn't already accounted for?
Too many early games?
Too many late games?
Too many tv games?
Defensive line not getting enough pressure?
Team meal at Es Tas resulted in extreme flatulence?
Mangino choked on a chicken bone?
Very rare glare into the coaches pressbox leads to a game without coordinators?

Let's get them out of the way now Stormin, take time to call your "sources" if you need to prior to responding.

Who is this guy? What a ****.

Yep, I did. I was wrong about the one game. I have no idea how I missed that. I don't even remember that game or Georgia Tech being that good.

So Iowa has been in two bcs bowls......my mistake on that fact.

It doesn't change the point. The poster originally listed several bcs bowls and as usual thats complete bs.

Uh...maybe you missed the 2010 Orange Bowl against Georgia Tech?

If that's all you said you wouldnt. We all want and expect isu to make bowl games.

It's your other comments like isu having plenty of seats available this year and how isu's facilities aren't as good (listing Washington state... then busted. Then defending the Texas bubble etc).

Throw in your ridiculous agreeing with hawk fans on here on ridiculous hawk comments and you have your answer.

If Little Brother Iowa can make two BCS Bowls since 2000... why do I get so ridiculed for expecting Big Brother Iowa State to simply make a bowl game?

Probably a Hawk fan like 98% of people in this thread according to d up. And apparently me and my "butt brother" are too.

Anyone who doesn't pump cardinal and gold sunshine out of their ***** is a Hawk fan. That should be a new board rule courtesy of Stormin and his merry band of little drummer boys.

The smell of Hawk Troll is overwhelming.

At the Ride to Remember on Sunday, coach asked those that had prayed for good weather for our ride to also pray for the health of the football team. A bit of a joke, relating the last two years of rain to the last two years of injuries. Sunday was a beautiful day for a ride, so I'm betting the injury bug has also been taken care of :jimlad:

Defending Texas and Washington State were more oriented towards the luxury suites built to accommodate more corporate donors, which are more and more becoming a primary source of income for college athletics outside of media contracts. Grassroots season ticket efforts are big, but no longer the biggest contributor in the grand scheme. Iowa State has a great football training facility, but the infrastructure to accommodate future corporate donors is somewhat lacking, and should be the next priority. The suites added in 2007 were a huge improvement though, and the Jack Trice club provides a great luxury space for the mid-level college athletic donor.

Having lived in Kansas and Texas, in addition to Iowa, its safe to say that I have seen quite a few athletic departments, and know quite a few people who work in various athletic departments, and people in media who cover those teams, and am able to admit when I think an athletic department is doing something better than Iowa State, without being a fan of that program or a hater of Iowa State. I often tell those people items in which I think Iowa State has done very well in their decisions, and they are receptive and complimentary. In the corporate world, companies take ideas from other companies all the time. This is no different. Admitting successes of Iowa, Kansas State, Texas Tech, whoever, does not make me a Cyclone hater. The groundwork for a "have not" school, as we are often called, to see success athletically and monetarily has been laid by numerous schools not far away in geography or stature.

Not sure how many big time Corporate Donors we really have supporting Iowa State. IMO, we have quite a few affluent supporters who would go for the atmosphere of the Jack Trice Club or the South End Zone Club rather than Corporate Suites. IMO, it is a smart strategy and is likely to be utilized at a higher level than more corporate suites.
