Zion: Angels Landing - We were the second bus in the morning (pre-permits) and it was packed. Much of the chain section is waiting on other people to move, but it was well worth it. Overall not a difficult hike, although the switch backs in the heat would be tiring if you're not in ok shape.

Zion: Narrows (bottom up) - Highly recommend renting boots and the wooded stick. It's crowded for a long while, but the best part is Wall Street, and not many go all the way there...big mistake! Highly recommend this unique hike.

A couple years back my wife and I went to Zion and did the Narrows bottom-up and also took the Observation Point trail -- you look down onto Angel's Landing at the summit. I think this trail may be closed now.

Anyone been to Big Bend and can recommend a good trail? I'm kinda clueless on hiking and got invited like 2 days ago :D My uncle probably knows some good ones, but I'd rather look up some stuff beforehand

Anyone hiked much in Breckenridge? Headed there in 6 weeks. Plan to do Quandry Peak but don’t have much else planned for hikes and need more.

No hiking but I mountain biked the fire roads and pass roads in the area. Cheated drove up as far as the mighty Chevy Cruze could go and biked down, let the copilot bring the car back out. It was really fun.

Go to Surly Horns and they have a entire thread dedicated to hiking and I believe a Big Bend thread been a few months since I've lurked there. Try the hobbies forum I believe

I stayed in Silverthorne, the Bakers Brewery was ok, nothing exceptional but I ate there 2 out of the 3 days. I liked it but it wasn't fancy. The owner was nice and the beer was good and food fine, so I went back because I liked the owner I guess.

Sorry I wasn't more help guess I lump the whole summit country area into 1 place,

TLDR: the original family cabin was lost in 2018.... almost all the families have rebuilt. i miss the old cabin.. the new one has internet now.... before it was like 1970s... no tv, cells, internet... just you, some weed, some booze, gas lamps and a radio.

rip little old cabin
That would have been so sweet. That entire area has vibes of the 70s still in my opinion. It’s like you go into a Time Machine driving to northwest Montana. I can’t really describe it accurately but I think those that have been there know what I mean.

Are you looking for short half day hikes, all day hikes or multi day hikes that require camping?

Good short day hikes include: Lost Mine and The Window Trail both located in/near the Chisos Basin. Another good short hike is Balanced Rock. Great either for sunrise or sunset. Santa Elena Canyon is fun but short. Cat Tail Falls is longer than the ones mentioned, but has a great waterfall at the end. There are several short trails off of Ross Maxwell Scenic Drive. If you are looking for longer hikes or overnight hiking and camping there are several trails that leave the Chisos Basin and go up into the Chisos Mtns

Another option is to get a rugged 4x4 and drive some of the primitive roads like The River Road, Old Maverick Road or Old Ore Road. There are others as well. But check with the Park Service to find out road conditions. If there has been any rain some roads may be closed.

Finally another less crowded option is Big Bend Ranch State Park located nearby.

I've done Quandary. Fun hike. Started to get pretty busy on put way down. Early start wouldn't hurt

Sweet. That’s the plan. Start around 5:30AM at the latest probably. Or hopefully earlier. Doing a summit hike as the sun is coming up is one of the coolest experiences.

Hanging Lake outside Glenwood Springs CO. My personal favorite for awhile. I've done a couple of others around the area and they are great too but Hanging Lake is hard to beat. Unfortunately it got overcrowded and now you've got to ride a bus to the trailhead.
We hiked that a little over a decade ago, and I agree that it was well worth it.
