It might be tough, but Jenning's kid (the Osage coach) did wrestle at Iowa State and spent at least 1 year wrestling for Dresser.Going to be tough to pull anyone from Osage with Schwab being an Osage guy.

my mistake!Yep, I was referring to the four victories over Naak. GA = Gabe Arnold
The younger Fox out of Osage may be the most intriguing prospect in that part of the state. He got his first title as a freshman so we all know what that means. Stangel's growth trajectory will be interesting to follow. He was 126 last year, then 145 this year and looked to me to be good sized at both weights. I've heard him mentioned as an under the radar kid. Kittleson's dad went to ISU right out of high school and was in the room under Gibbons but Tim Krieger wasn't real easy on room guys back then as an assistant. I can't say if there's any kind of soft spot for ISU now.A couple other kids at Osage worth keeping an eye on though in Kittleson and Stangel. Also think that the Smith kid, ( Not sure on name), from West Hancock, and younger Rinken from Nashua Plainfield could grow into some good prospects. The older Rinken should be fun to see at UNI along with Nick Fox.
You are correct, he beat him 2X. Also thought Knaack did a good amount of stalling in that finals match but he has a shot to get it done next year. The younger Fox out of Osage may be the most intriguing prospect in that part of the state. The two Smith boys out of Britt are really good athletes. I thought the older one would get his title this year. I believe he had beaten the Knaack kid 2x this season. He has one more crack at it next year. The younger one ran into a buzzsaw Saturday night but he's got a lot of good wrestling ahead of him.
Those Rinken boys are impressive, and they'll have some toughness coming out of Al Frost's room. I'll be interested to see how the older one does at UNI.
I hadn't thought of that angle but now that you mention it, I can't come up with another one.You are correct, he beat him 2X. Also thought Knaack did a good amount of stalling in that finals match but he has a shot to get it done next year.
Is this Frost's first D1 wrestler? I know he's had plenty of good kids and teams over the years.
Look up the Pin Doctors on Facebook. He has a really good account/story of anxiety/stress/adrenaline dump all happening at once that may or may not explain that match.Right? If he was just sick that’s one thing but he seemed totally fine until he went down in a heap there after the SEP guy got the escape. Did he get an elbow or shoulder to the jaw or chin on the backside (away from the camera) that gave him a bit of a concussion and that’s why he went down? And if so, with how much he was stumbling around and barely able to stand at times it’s irresponsible to let him stay out there if it was indeed as a result of a blow to the head even if it was seemingly minor contact
I think stangel just doesn’t get the credit he deserves. Last year at Night of Conflict he beat little Naak pretty soundly. The younger Fox out of Osage may be the most intriguing prospect in that part of the state. Did the IHSAA ever mete out any punishment? Or did the Hawkeye influence keep it from happening?Did he earn the right to twist a kids ankle and injure him in a football game? Kueter is a great athlete. Not so great human.
Back in my day the only men amongst boys in high school were almost universally doing something extra the boys were not. #SmallBerriesKueter posted a picture of himself and the rest of his football teammates this year.... and stated below it.... "A man amongst boys!".
Go ahead and be cocky an arrogant..... but don't put down your fellow teammates.
The kid is an amazing athlete, no doubt, but has not handled it very well. A lot of other kids with amazing talent are much better humans off the field/court, etc.
Yes it was delight making sure wrestler was up and moving at 430am.Emmetsburg, ackley, north tama were other schools that had some nasty drives to that district when you consider 10am starts instead of the old noon starts for districts.
Max doesn’t have any aspirations for college at the time being. His dad would love to see him be at Iowa state or uni.His dad will likely be an issue
I’m sure Tom and Jerry are licking their chops.
Good to know. So 174 won’t be a challenge at allNo, he wrestled 170 last year. He cuts no weight to make 182. Wrestled up for the challenge.
I’m sure Tom and Jerry are licking their chops.
They can talk to them if the the player makes contact. They can’t offer but can say I’m sure we will have one for you when the time comes.Coaches can talk to and make offers to freshman? This is insanity.
I believe the rule is that anytime an athlete (on athletic scholarship) is competing in two sports and one of them is football, the scholly counts against football’s 85 available and not the “smaller” sport’s count, even if there is no money coming from the football allotment, to prevent going around the rules for over signing too many players. So technically i think Kueter for example is a “walk on” for wrestling as his scholarship should count against football.I really hope this isn't a thing where they have the football coaches offer him so he's on a football scholarship rather than counting towards a wrestling scholarship
He’s a freak athlete, so who knows, but it seems unlikely he’d be able to pull both off at a high level. Can someone think of another example of this happening at a power 5?Realistically can Keuter pull both sports off? I have to imagine he'll wrestle heavy weight so he can play linebacker and not have to worry about weight? Get to 230-40?
