Gameday announcing that LSU will hold a press conference today at 12pm to announce who the new head coach will be but Gameday is not naming names as of right now.
I saw that. I have a really hard time believing it is Herman unless he was negotiating throughout the night since Houston had a game end kind of late yesterday. As another poster said, Herman would be much better off going to UT. For ISU's sake, I wouldn't mind him going to LSU so UT gets another mediocre hire.

Herman to LSU never made sense. He'll kick ass at UT. Happy for Orgeron; he seems like a decent guy and he's got his players squarely in his corner.

ESPN spin-machine on Wednesday:

"Tom Herman is going to be the next coach at LSU with an announcement Saturday."

ESPN this morning:

"Ed Orgeron is going to be the next coach at LSU with an announcement Saturday. Unnamed source: 'we wanted someone that wanted to be here (LSU) and not someone chasing the money.'"

ESPN went from praising the hiring of Tom Herman when they thought he was going to LSU and now they are vilifying him in less than a week.

Too bad nobody takes them seriously anymore. ESPN is fluff.

Not exactly sure.

Herman needs to move soon. Most coaches get a little lull in performance and their excitement at the 4-5 year mark. Hasn't he been at Houston for 3 years? If the team slides any more his $$$ rate will diminish.

I heard that hermans agent gave LSU a $6 mil price. Herman has losses to Navy, SMU and Memphis. His stock has had to come down.

I don't believe he will have the success that people think.

Texas should take another run at Saban, the 10 million-plus coach is going to happen.

Rumors in the grate state of texass has it that Houston will increase tom herman's salary by 1.5 million per year if he will stay.....Great article on foxsports re Herman's coaching and that he mite not be ready for a power five school...which I thought was interesting

Houston's future is already in Hades considering how much debt they've incurred in their failure to land themselves in the Big 12 - what's more salary that they cannot afford?

Interesting fun fact about Herman. He and his wife are huge swingers. This was well known when he was in Ames.
