Skylar Thompson injury update: Chris Klieman says the K-State quarterback escaped without any broken bones. No timetable for his return to action.

Chris Klieman says there's a chance Skylar Thompson will be ready to play on Saturday against TCU.

So I presume he'll be 100% at game time vs. ISU?

Klieman's playing with Patterson's brain here. I'd be so surprised to see Thompson play at TCU given what he looked like after the TxT game. Next is a bye week. Then Ku. He could easily be out a month to recoup and be ready for the stretch run.
 
I see they just announced a 6 year extension on Klieman...just shy of $4M per year. Timing seems a bit strange...but whatever.

Yea, I don't know if he has a clause preventing him from going anywhere else in Big XII but there will be a lot of coaches getting locked down next few months as Texas job gets ready to open up.
 
South Carolina is hot for CMC on twitter. It never ends. But I agree with the general tenor here that this is a good deal for the color purple even though I can't see Texas firing Herman unless it really falls apart down there. Texas should handle OU Saturday and that's really the most important component for Herman. Even Charlie Strong hung on with a win over the Sooners.

Some of you wasting money gambling on these games may find this helpful or not.

ON SKYLAR THOMPSON’S INJURY STATUS:
“Yesterday, we didn't practice Skylar. He just took all the mental reps yesterday. And when we practiced Will (Howard) and Nick (Ast) were the main ones today. Our hope is that Skyler can take some of the reps. Today, we'll find out how much he can take. But we hope he can take a few and then obviously, increase it more on Wednesday, if he's available. That's obviously going to be contingent upon what he can do today and tomorrow. But we'll split those reps up, I want to make sure that Will and Nick, as well, can take some snaps and be able to operate our system in the case Skylar, after Tuesday or midway through Wednesday, doesn't feel like he can go. But we think he can.”
