I am so tired of losing and the excuses/meltdowns that go with it. Therefore, I am going to start a positivity drive. No matter how the season goes, I am going to keep positive and support the team. That means players, coaches, and even the crappy announcers that they give us during the non-conference schedule. We all know that this team is not going to be a contender so why don’t we bypass all of the negative crapola and try to focus on what they did well. Even if they only win four conference games. Who is with me!!

We should use this thread as some kind of electronic oath.

I, username, promise to not be a Negative Nancy during the 2008-2009 Men's Basketball season, no matter what our record is. No matter how bad the NCAA, Big XII, and refs try to screw us, I will not threaten to quit being a fan or suggest that ISU threaten to quit the Big XII.

Something along those lines anyways, could probably use some tweaking. No offense to people named "Nancy".

I'm actually going to predict 16-18 wins...I think that we can almost run the tables in the non-con then do decently in the con.

We are going all in this season...we need a postseason birth.

I took up this mantle a few months ago - I love basketball and I want to be positive and enjoy it, and I was a Nancy there for a while. Best of luck to everybody involved with it and I expect to have a lot of fun this year, eating Clone Cones if nothing else.

My dad always told me never get too high after a win or too low after a loss. Great advice.

Follow WBB.....I predict a very positive season.

I respect Bill F for all the work he has done at ISU and the amazing places he has taken us. Good man. Good coach. The WBB team represents ISU well.

With that said. It would probably take $100 bucks to get me to sit through a WBB game. Volleyball yes.. basketball no way. I'm just glad there are enough success craved ISU fans out there to follow women's basketball so that they can somewhat support themselves financially.

For the men... the best thing about sports is the score is 0-0 when the game begins. Worrying less about 'the program' and more about making it a fun game day atmosphere has helped me enjoy football and mens BB.

Not to mention the walking tacos. Mmmmm baby, those are good.

The women's games are exciting and fun in their own way. It is every bit as entertaining as a men's game. Go to a heaviliy contested conference game against OU or Baylor..etc. and you will see every bit the intensity as you do for a men's game from both the crowd and the team.

While I don't doubt that they play hard, the style of play and difference of athleticism is what gets me and a lot of other people who dont care for WBB.

I use to think that.

Now I am just happy to attend anything ISU that is winning.

Exactly. A lot of people have taken to WBB simply because they thrash people. Winning is fun. It puts butts in the seats and money in the bank. Just imagine the impact on ISU sports if the women didnt bring in any bank.

I'm with you! At least until they lose their first game.
