Does anyone know if you're allowed to park cars Friday overnight in the Haunted Forest? What is the cutoff for when you need your vehicle out after the game and the cost to park in this area?

I can't imagine the tax-free income the owner has pocketed over all these years. Good for him.
I got the inside scoop awhile back on that. It would blow your mind how much they make.

We parked their for years but I quit giving the. Money because they don’t put anything back into the lot. It’s been nothing but weeds everywhere since it flooded back in like 08. Prior to that it was always in pretty decent shape.

We have been tailgating in a camper in the haunted forest for the past 7 years. Pricing has gone up considerably in the past couple years. Here is the pricing from last weekend and what we have been told about the Iowa game.

2021 Pricing from the UNI game.
$35/Car if you come Friday and stay the night.
$25/Car if you come on Saturday.
$250/Camper.
Cars and campers can stay the night on Saturday for no extra charge.

The property owners have said they have 50+ camper deposits already for the Iowa game. He also indicated there has been a deposit paid for a giant fenced off area for an Iowa tailgate. Based off previous years the camper price will remain the same but I would expect car parking to move closer to $35-40.

Do you know the rules for parking cars there Friday? Like how early you can park and does someone have to stay with the car all night or can you leave it overnight unattended?

The lot on the other side of the creek charges $40/car. We’ve parked in the Forest for years. The owners told me on Saturday they spent over $100,000 to bring dirt in and level the lots. They also sowed the lot with alfalfa. It does look a lot better.

For the Iowa game I would guess someone will be at the gate all day Friday. You should be able to show up anytime on Friday. There is no requirement for anybody to be with the car overnight. Pretty much once you are in the lot you are good to go until Sunday.

There is a row of RV/Busses still there. How much do they charge to just keep it there between games?

You wonder how much could have gone to education etc... that's just from one tax cheat. Imagine all the others.
maybe he buys food and gas and other non deductable things. Also gives him more money to spend on what you think is important

One time I asked them how much for that and it was like $1000 or something like that. You get your spot for the whole season and can leave it between games. My worry is mice or people with sticky fingers getting into my stuff.

Glad to know you endorse cheating on your taxes. You know that's a felony right?

Hmmmmm…. Since they have owned this for a lot of years and they still own it yet today, one should assume, they probably pay property taxes on the land.

Also wondering why folks assume these owners don't pay income tax on the money made from lot...are the owners out bragging that they don't?

I was trying to do some digging on the Beacon website....the taxed value of the land there is pretty low ..but couldn't find last sales (in a trust now).....but clearly making great money on the property!

I'm sure they can't develop on the land, plus it's in a flood zone so the land really isn't worth much hence the lower property taxes
