Hason Ward

JW or EH made an off the cuff comment during the game yesterday that you would have missed if you weren't paying close attention. One of them said Hasan Ward hadn't taken off the warm ups today likely feeling a little under the weather. I don't know if they have any insight to think that was the reason or just speculating but it would make sense.

He was there - As long as Tre King continues to be effective Ward is likely to get spot minutes the rest of the year, especially when Kunc returns. We're just not used to that kind of depth in the front court.
Maybe more minutes if we get into foul trouble!

I think TJ also wants to give any available bigs minutes to Tre right now to get him back to game shape ASAP. TJ also seems to have a bit of an NBA coach's philosophy toward a rotation where you might be way, way out of it and then suddenly in it again--thinking of Javan last season.

I think you mean Jaden Walker?

I literally got left at a golf meet. WAY before cell phones, 1 1/2 hours from home. Opposing coach drove like mad to catch up with bus 1/2 down the road. Everyone involved was embarrased.
My brother got left at a track meet in high school. Also way before cell phones. He won a lot of events and they wanted pictures. Everyone was gone when he got out of the shower.

It was at a small college so he looked up a guy from our high school and went to his dorm. Called my parents from the dorm room phone. It was already late and a two hour drive so he just stayed there and they picked him up the next morning.

The real significance of Ward not being in the rotation is we'll likely make Center our top priority in transfer season. However, I think it could of been already.
Maybe. I'd bet Jones returns next year...Will have Tre King and Omaha will play the 4 as well..

Depending on who all returns...Need Grill to return for Covid year.. This would be massive IMO.

If Grill returns and everyone thing stays as is with (4) coming in.. That leaves us 2 open spots for transfers..

Will def need transfer SG and yea you are right prob 5 man.

Lipsey, Grill, Eli King, Tre King, Bob, Williams, Watson, Ward, Hamilton, Omaha, Milan, Fish.

Correct me if I’m wrong but wouldn’t that leave us only one spot for a transfer?

That's why I mentioned top priority being Center. However, I don't think anyone will be shocked if one of the twelve chooses not to return.

That’s the answer I was looking for when I mentioned it, but trying to ask a community of fans a simple question proved to be difficult

Ward has good size and is a good athlete but he’s basically the same guy as Tre King but with less of an offensive game. There just aren’t enough minutes available for every scholarship player, especially when Jaz comes back. This will always be the case. If anything we could use a 5th guard given that TJ is now starting all 4 guards. Unless you press 94 feet the whole game like WVU used to do you don’t need more than an 8, maybe 9 man rotation. Playing more than that limits guys’ effectiveness. See Fran and Iowa’s problem with derpth in past years.

Was at game yesterday and that was what I was wondering. Not whether or not he plays but that he wasn’t even participating in warmups. Figured illness or injury.
