Hamburger Seasoning

For those in the Des Moines area, the Hy Vee in WDSM west of South 50th Street and Mills Civiv Parkway has a great premade special patty called the Mills Civic Burger. Most excellent!

Little bit of salt, pepper, and garlic is all I need.

On Leno last night Mel Gibson was talking about making burgers and he likes throwing some cumin seasoning in. Never have tried that, but sounds interesting.

For Memorial Day I did Montreal seasoning, minced onion, garlic salt, Worcestershire and a little beer.

The higher the fat content of the meat, the better it will stick together. Also, don't over mix.

But, really, I'll eat them just about any way. Mmmmm..... beef.

Lawry's is the best.

One question, though. What the heck you been waiting for?!?!?! Grilling season NEVER ends at our house. In fact, I stoke up the Weber and smoke a couple of pork roasts every New Year's day for bowl-party pulled pork sandwiches. Just bought 130 lbs. of Kingsford @ Home Depot over the weekend (yeah, it was a 2 for 1 sale).

I mix in a little Tone's Canadian Steak seasoning into the ground beef when i patty them up. After grilling, sprinkle a little blue cheese on top. Also, I toast the buns on the grill while the burger is grilling. Damn good eats.

Tone's Canadian Steak seasoning has become my favorite seasoning for all things beef. I've never had Montreal steak seasoning, and I was wondering if it is the same as Tone's "Canadian" seasoning?

Mine are slowly seasoned with grain and then specially cut for me in good ol' Whittemore before they hit my grill.

Cookies flavor enhancer. Maybe throw in some minced onion. Occasionally some worcestershire sauce

Take a couple of pounds of burger and add chopped pepperoni, black & green olives, bacon, mushrooms, cheese of your choice and mix in some pizza sauce. Mix all together well. Make into a loaf shape and put on the grill low and slow until done. Slice your burger as thick or thin as you want.
Make breakfast ones out of sausage, hashbrowns, eggs, bacon, cheese or what ever you want on them.

I'll mix in some of a seasoning rub that I mix up along with some cheese and horseradish. That makes for a pretty decent burger.

Lawry's, Red Robin seasoning, & Fiesta Brand Fajita seasoning from Texas-my aunt brings it up everytime she visits, delicious. Then of course I add ketchup because it is far superior to mustard.

i like a good stuffed burger. Make two thin patties, put Sauteed onions and some peperjack cheese down and press edges together. Lots of flavor throughout the burger this way! Just make sure there are no holes in the edges where the cheese can melt out.
