I love Haliburton, but that was really cringey. He took about the worst shot possible, and got a really lucky bounce to make it, then did the choke sign because he thought it was a 3 for the win, not realizing they had only tied the game.

I was waiting for someone to say this. Surprised it took so long.

Ehhh…if any of us made that shot we’d do far worse than the choke sign. I, for example, would literally never shut up about it.

Tyrese said he pulled it back out because the ball got hit and he didn’t like his angle. He also said he wouldn’t have done the sign if he thought it was a 2.

Either way, Tyrese had pretty much earned the right to do whatever he wants. He’s been a stone cold killer.

Agree.

I love Tyrese and his upbeat personality. He is such a great a great point guard to build a franchise around. I know he loves the trash talking part of the game and all, but I don't get why he felt the need to bust out the choke sign.

That said, I'm a huge Tyrese fan and he's the reason I've become an NBA fan again.

Because New York choked on their chicken. Big time.

He was honoring one of his greatest mentors who happened to be calling the game...

To be fair, the Reggie choke was not on a game winner. I believe it was to tie or during the comeback. Still a legendary homage to Reggie and will be iconic if the Pacers win this series

Yeah, that kind of thing, paying homage to a legendary pacer and probably the most iconic Pacer moment to date is going to make Tyrese a legend in Indy. I hope he stays there a long time and they build a perennial power.

I have a hard and fast rule that you cannot complain about how someone reacts to doing really cool **** if you cannot do really cool ****. If I hit a buzzer beater in the Garden in the ECF I'd probably take off my shirt and give Chalamet a stunner.

Thank God Hali got out of there.
Going to Indiana thrust Hali out of his comfort zone and forced him to be the man of the team. I still think he would've been good on the Kings, but not the bonafide star he is becoming in Indiana. Also, being coached by Rick Carlisle vs the last several Kings coaches is a big step up. Overall, getting traded will likely end up being the best thing to ever happen for Tyrese

I admit it’s easy to defend Tyrese for just about anything since he does everything with a smile.

Pacers are a lot of fun to watch! Lots of movement and teamwork, great passing from Haliburton. He always had a positive impact as the 6th man on the 2019 team that blew it it against Ohio State, great to see a Cyclone realize their potential in the NBA.

I chalk it up to Tyrese and the Pacers having a chip on their shoulder. Knicks have gotten a lot of coverage and the number of celebrity bandwagon fans is staggering. Most people expect NY to win the series. Pacers of course are small market. They already took down the 1 seed, Cleveland.

Tyrese also got voted most overrated by his peers and yet he’s had multiple record breaking clutch plays down the stretch to win. It would’ve sucked if they lost the game in OT, but now it’s iconic, especially with Reggie in the building.
