Iowa is irrelevant to me. I'm sad for our guys and our fans that an injury derailed what could have been. It's got nothing to do with the team or fanbase on the east side of the state.
It was a good year. The measuring stick for out basketball program is not, and should not be, how well we compare to Iowa.
Up and sober now. Slept like crap as I’m sure most of us did. Kept waking up thinking “what if” as in what if JJ was healthy and we were at full strength FOR ONCE when we had a legit shot at winning the whole thing. I think we would’ve at least made the Final 4.
Oh well, such is life. We booked our room through Monday so going to make the most of it. Doing the museums today and finding a place this evening to cheer on the Illini.

Im a very positive fan. The couple from Rhode Island sitting next to us even complimented me on it.
But losing in this fashion, Jefferson or not, and also playing quite poorly for large stretches 5 Sweet Sixteens in a row? People should be allowed here to be frustrated and vent about that. Especially given iowa's result.
Yeah, we will do the right things and stay internally focused, especially within the program itself. But come on, guys. Many of us in Iowa will really have to hear about this and if people can't vent about it here, where can they?
I don't have a problem with either attitude but IMHO this time, the bitter side has their feet grounded slightly more in reality. This is not good and it's not fair but it happened.
think Iowa state has some sort of weird curse like the cubs did. You’ve had multiple times to break through the sweet 16 ceiling and crapped the bed everytime. That isn’t a very good Tennessee team you should have been able to beat them without jefferson. Last night was an absolutely pathetic performance from the guys minus heise nobody else showed up but it’s whatever.
Bummed that Iowa State lost last night, but that is basketball. All but one team will lose in the NCAA Tournament.
I will remember this team in the same way I remember the 1986, 1997, 2014, 2016, 2022 and 2024 teams.
One of these years, ISU will match the 2000 team.

Lipsey didn't play bad tho. I'd say he played good overall all things considered.
We were always going to lose the rebounding battle, especially without Jefferson. 5-23 from 3 sticks out, needed to be better than that to win.

It's just crazy to me how Iowa State (as a school and in all sports) can't EVER seem to break through. Something catastrophic always has to go wrong.
Don’t fret so much. The National Title will be between UConn and Arizona. Between one team who is in the Big 12 and the other who wants to be in the Big 12. That’s my narrative and I’m sticking to it.

This! I call it my emotional hedge. I will pay my mortgage next month with the iowa/tennessee worst case scenario moneyline parlay I made last week.
Yeah I mean the Milan disappearing act in the post season is the bigger issue. He wets the bed in the ncaa tourney every year outside round 1 games
That's what made Ter'ran Benton's INT against Okie State so magical. For once, we *did* deliver. It happens rarely, you have to savor it when it happens because you know that it's going to be a long time before it happens again.
What conference makes the most TV revenue? The same one that has had 3 straight NCAAF championships? The same one that had 10 teams in the tournament,6 sweet 16, 4 elite 8? I’m calling it now. Not watching any teams from B$G in any sport. The system is broken beyond repair.
