Gundy

KSU would be crazy to get rid of Klieman. It does appear we broke them. Cannot explain how they lost to Army at home. Their schedule is difficult so they might drop another 5 games, but he is a good coach.
I watched that whole game and Army looked solid in all phases of game. I would not want to play them.

A top Big 12 team should still beat them at home though.

Thank god it happened now. I was really worried there was going to be some emotional "farewell, Coach Gundy!" moment when they played ISU. Then they'd play out of their minds for one game, finishing like 2-10 and ruining our season.
Agreed. Either being his farewell game, or he gets sacked the week before us and we get the rally around the interim coach treatment, both were concerning scenarios. This seems to be a best case for us.

Matt Campbell somehow answers yet another question with an even more Matt Campbell answer than any question he's ever Matt Campbell'd before. I truly am at a loss to explain how he does it. :);)

Simple…….. He pi**es gratitude and sh*ts process.

This makes Campbell the dean of big 12 coaches.

Hilariously, when this news broke I was listening to @JakeBrend and @Derek Duke swear up and down that OSU would wait until season’s end.
You have to take into account the Gundy factor. Anything is pretty much impossible to predict when he is involved. He could do anything at any time to force another unpredicted outcome. They could have very well been trying to work with him to save him until the end of the season and give him a chance to turn it around or at least show signs of life and he gets pissed off and tells them to go **** themselves.

I'm not saying that is what happened, just that it could happen with Gundy involved.

I think 5 years ago they would’ve given him the extended send off, but with the NIL landscape and transfer portal you cannot wait until the end of the season to make a change. If you do you’re severely handicapping yourself for the next season.

Besides his contract is written so there is no benefit in waiting. Many contracts have a diminishing payout. His is $15M for any of the next three years. $15M now, $15M at the end of the season, $15M at the end of next season...

No reason to wait.

They did, however, lose very badly last night at ECU, 28-6.

I think it's safe to say Kansas State sucks.

Or OSU could have played with the same passion we played for Paul Rhoad's last game.
