Gundy

I mean Blackmon, Hill, I'm sure I'm forgetting others but just those two alone.

Glanced at years played quick.

Dez Bryant 07-09 but mostly freakish in 2008
Blackmon 09-11, absurdly dominant in 2010 and 2011

Hill's production wasn't what I'd have guessed but those above for four years straight was basically best WR in college football for a good chunk.

If I were looking for a coach today I would think not twice, but three or four times before hiring Gundy. He has always been a rebel, not caring if he isn't politically correct. But lately he just seems like he doesn't care. A high dollar coach that is just putting in time and collecting a paycheck is a disaster for a program trying to get back on their feet.
I would say those are the types of questions a school will have to be willing to ask him. At first he stated that OSU would be his last coaching job, then he walked that back saying he would be coaching somewhere next season. Its up to him if he wants to coach again, I am sure there are schools out there that would hire him, maybe not at a P4 level, but many G5 schools looking to try and recapture what he has done in the past. Not going to feel sorry for the guy either way, there are worst things in life than retiring at 58 with $15 million coming in your way.

Looking at his results...it's better than I'd have guessed.

2020 to 2023 they were still pretty good, not in the NC discussion but usually in the ranked team discussion.

2024 they started out 3-0 with a win over Arkansas then finished 0-9 in Big 12 but with a ton of close losses.

I don't think they were going to turn it around with Gundy, but it's not like he struggled for years and years. It was 1.25 bad seasons is really all.

I was surprised his record against OU was so poor, only 4 and 14 verses the Sooners, I would have thought it was much closer than that. Guy was a solid coach and has nothing to be ashamed about, the game moved on with NIL and the portal and he just refused or could not adapt to the changing landscape. Dabo struggles with the same issues.

Blum is 80% of why even have top 25 programs right now.

Who knew CW’s buddy from college and hetero life mate/neighbor that he’d have on the pod sometimes to discuss Cyclone sports would be the hero that we needed. A blonde knight.

Is it getting that spicy over there in Manhattan?
My KSU friends also seem to be ready to pull the trigger. But I guess I have just written that off as spoiled fans frustrated with a 1-3 start. My understanding is the coach and AD are good friends, so I can't think the AD is that close to actually making a move.

KSU would be crazy to get rid of Klieman. It does appear we broke them. Cannot explain how they lost to Army at home. Their schedule is difficult so they might drop another 5 games, but he is a good coach.

OU didn’t lose much to anyone in their last 15 years in the Big 12.

There's a reason why Campbell was afraid of the Ireland game. I think, in general, our guys could probably rebound from a loss better but it wasn't hard to see a situation where you lose that first game, playing a crappy second game and then all hell breaks loose.

I do think Kansas State could turn it around. I swear the year they played in the Big 12 championship (a few years ago) they also had a rough start.
