Huh? He was 4th string. Assad and Swafford were popped for gambling and Arnold decided to redshirt. If those things don't happen, he doesn't even move up to 184.
He was Iowa’s starter at 184 last year. Who cares why. Swiderski and Chittum were starters last year even though they had redshirts available and Paniro got popped for gambling.

Not even close to the point of my post. He was down on the depth chart at Iowa. It is a fact. If you argue, otherwise, I’m not sure you know what a depth chart even is. Lol.

One of the reasons to like Riggins is that he took on the challenge of filling out a spot at a higher weight, knowing he was going to be outgunned. And damn near made nationals anyway. It’s great to have him around as you have to love that attitude.

He was a starter at Iowa last year. Unless you want to say Chase Straw won a Big 12 title as a second stringer! I mean David Carr redshirted that year. That’s how dumb your argument sounds

I believe there will be wrestle off Wednesday. I am not sure who is going and I have no info on the 125 situation. If it were me, and KT is wrestling good, I am going with the veteran in Carver. I will say this, Dresser is going to take the guy that WANTS to wrestle. If you show a glimmer of doubt, he is going with another option. He wants this W, and that is why you gotta love him. I am pretty close to 3 other programs, and I promise you Dresser is a breath of fresh air for me. He focuses on the little things, but he also wants kids on this team that want to compete. Winning will come with the right mindset, if you are competing your butt off on the daily, he knows you will end up having success.
I am interested in seeing who we go with at 125, 141, 157, and 174. I am not sure it is a lock on any of those weights. Again, my opinion.
This is a wrestleoff I would love to watch. If anybody catches wind of the outcome/score I would really like to know any details about how they compete with one another.

I never said starter. That was your word, not mine. I haven't used that word in this thread.

To review, here's the post I made that you apparently have such a problem with:

174 only approaches toss up level of Gaitan goes. There's a reason Riggins was 3rd/4th string at Iowa.

...if you disagree then you also think Yonger isn't our 1st string HWT. How "dumb" is that logic?

If you want to talk about whether he was a "starter" that's a different discussion. I agree he was their starter at 184 after they went through 3 other guys. That's not the feather in his cap you seem to think it is. lol

Yonger is first string HWT
Chase Straw was first string 157 when David Carr was redshirting
Casey and Chittum were first string last year with Paniro out

Still laughing at the idea someone told me I’m wrong to say he was 3/4 string. Did he eventually become 1st string? Sure. But not because he rose up the ranks to beat the other guys out. Which was the whole point. :curse:

Carroll is more likely to get majored than win.

Yonger will win if healthy.
All the disagreement was a little too optimistic by everyone. Had to go back to this because I saw this and thought the same thing at the time. Carroll struggled big time to get to any sort of offense
