Govee Lights

As I begin to age, I have decided to do as little on the ladder as possible. So last year I opted to go with the Govee Lights.. I have the curtain lights that I would like to make a couple of Cyclone images to display proudly.

Do any of you have any experience creating an image to be used within the Govee ecosystem? I don't have an artistic bone in my body, and I can't figure it out. I'd be happy to pay for your time.

I have 3 sets of Govee curtain lights (H70B1) hung on my double garage door. There is a lack of custom ISU themes. I did create an I-State logo and shared it. I attached an image, I think it looks better in person.

I think you need to have all 3 curtains extended together. Then search for #Iowa State or try this link: https://app-h5.govee.com/share/diyV...rsion=7.1.20&transaction=1758635431421&type=1. Then you should be able to hit apply and can even save it to your favorites.

It does take some time and the app is clunky for creating themes but it does have a lot of tools/versatility to customize. I'm not well versed in it yet. But will let you know if I upload anything else.

I also installed Govee Permanent Lights 2 (H705E) under my eaves and really like those two. I used a 2x4 to space them away from the house and they turned out pretty good. I like them for general white lighting every night, but can fancy it up for holidays or other events combined with the curtains.

Any other Cyclones out there using these?

Not exterior light but used their neon rope light as a backlighting for a translight. Really is fun to play with and customize the lighting.

Yeah I went a little Govee crazy. I have them all the way around the house. I have the double curtains and then another single curtain. Just bought 3 of the Christmas trees, have both the walkway lights, the smaller ones so the dogs leashes dont break them and the taller ones closer to the house. I did buy the lights you put on the Christmas tree as well.

I also habe the recessed lights for outside and basement theater room along with the garage lights. It's great when you get it all to work correctly but when you want to add new features or giphs and you can't figure it out you want to go all Clark Griswald on them.

Naturally I don't use them all during the entire year but it was good for the 4th, Christmas and some other holidays or baby announcements.

But I want the red Ryder bb gun and would like some additional options for ISU.

Very nice. Good to know you are using a double curtain and a single. Unfortunately it doesn't seem like you can create a single curtain effect and then apply or share it for a double curtain setup. Whatever you search for in the share space for curtains only applies to how they are extended in your app for that device. I have a couple of single curtain text effects (my left curtain died and Govee just sent a replacement just haven't replaced it yet so was working with single curtain for a bit) I have that I can finish and get uploaded to the share space. I'll have to see if I can copy them for a double curtain setup or at least look at my settings and just apply them to a double curtain setup.

Holy ****, we found the guy who is the reason they created HOAs. We have a guy like you on my culdesac, luckily, he’s at the end and a few houses from me. Also, don’t get me wrong, his house looks very nice lit up, but being on one of the landing paths for O’Hare, I wonder sometimes if pilots get confused. And if I were his next door neighbor, we’d have some discussions about why he keeps everything on until the sun rises .

I only keep the ones on the house during the year as a light glow to accent the house. Just a dim light that adds a little glow tucked under the overhang. If you haven't used Govee there are a thousand of ways to control your lights.

What is the power source for these lights? Extension cords? Permanent electric wiring?

Right now my cords run through my garage door weatherstripping and are plugged into extension cords or outlets.

The curtains on the garage door have cords hanging in the garage because of the movement and you need some slack. I need to rig some bungee cords to help that out but it works.

The permanent outdoor lights could be run through my soffit into the attic but I don't have a nearby outlet up there. You have to look very close to see mine. The end of the cord is at the corner of my garage door with an outlet on the wall there.
