Don't have cable. It isn't on Amazon prime or Netflix, or Disney+.
Batboy, Goodfellas is on Netflix. Put it on your list.

My favorite line: “I'd like to think that the last thing that went through his head, other than that bullet, was to wonder how the hell Andy Dufresne ever got the best of him.”

I like this one.

"To this day, I have no idea what that woman was singing about. Like, literally, no idea.
I don’t know what a Hollaback girl is, but I have to imagine it’s a foul, disease-ridden thing that wears too much make-up to cover up the fact that it’s a 47-year-old fish dog"

The family guy parody of shawshank is a good one.

If you have 10 minutes here it is.

The Godfather 1 and Casino are better?

This could actually use its own thread. I'd say, in this order:
1. The Godfather
2. The Godfather Part 2
3. Donnie Brasco
4. The Godfather Part 3
5. Goodfellas
6. Casino
7. The French Connection (not really a mob movie, but involved organized crime)

Did you seriously put Godfather 3 on that list ?

Yep. And for good reason. Coppola almost sunk the whole movie by miscasting his daughter, but it's a great story nonetheless. Michael trying to get out of what he never wanted to get into, and realizing it's wa-a-a-a-a-a-a-y too late. That final shot of him dying alone, an old man somewhere in Italy, is a perfect ending.

Watched Goodfellas. Keeping my vote as Shawshank. Goodfellas was okay. Like 10 15 years pass and everyone looks exactly the same. Ray liotta supposedly was 21 in the film at 1 point and he was 36 when it came out. Looked 36 the whole time. Only time any of the characters looked older was at the very end. Agree with the other poster who said it started strong and then just kind of drug on.

Karen. Come on, Karen. Why'd you have to make a poll out of this, Karen? Damn it, Karen. I'm gonna have to ask the mods to ban you now, Karen. Karen!

But on a serious note... This is a very tough choice. Both are classics, Karen.
Watching out the window for helicopters while typing that?

Where at Johnny Dangerously? THE most historically accurate mobster period piece.

If I start either one, I’m finishing. But Goodfellas gets a little bump (get it?) due to Scorcese and the Stones-laden soundtrack.

Top 5 mafia flicks:
1. Godfather II
2. Godfather
3. Goodfellas
4. The Departed
5. Casino

I'd switch 1 and 2 but you can't go wrong. Godfather one is so masterful in watching Michael's character change throughout the show....the ending scene just gives me chills every time.
