He had a lot of success in Louisville which is probably culturally pretty similar to Tech. Also, I believe they have bathrooms in Lubbock for the occasional quick and indiscrete rendezvous.

Funny how some on here didn’t think what he said was that bad…. when in fact…. it was awful and it cost him his job.

Did he actually read the slave and master part? I can maybe see what he was trying to say, but bringing up slaves and masters (even if it is in the Bible) isn't how you get that point across.

Would think TT would want their name out there with a guy like Pitino, but they probably have a better shot at Richard than Rick. Have a tough time believing Tech won't go after a guy with a big time Texas college/HS background.

I hope they fall. The problem to me is that Tech has a lot of money.

I agree with the poster who said they may look at Univ North Texas' coach. Texas schools have a way of always wanting a coach from that state.

Tech figures if they get them 70 plus they can cut the pay by their SS benefits and save on insurance with Medicare.

It was a weird hire. Kind of reminds me of when that old dude got the WVU football job after Rich Rod left. May have made some sense in the extreme short term but was unlikely to be a long term solution.

Makes sense. They just wanted to move on. This wasn't a 'for cause' situation.
