I think 16 is the bigger challenge. 234 yard par 3 will always be harder in my opinion than a long par 5.Yeah 17 is a monster hole to manage at the end of your round.
15, 16, 17 and 18 are pretty tough finishing holes.

Played otter creek yesterday, it is in fantastic shape.
I like Otter. Feel like a couple holes are repetitive. 3 & 5 are both par 5s with the pond right of the fairway. 9 and 12 are also similar dogleg rights. But I'm just being picky. The wind out there can make it tough, but overall I enjoy playing there.
I play league at Otter, 15 mph wind feels like 25 mph out there. Not a terribly long course but lots of thick stuff that can really ruin a round if you spray it off the tee.
Otter and Coldwater are similar in that when the native grasses are in growing season you are likely to lose your ball if you hit in there. Early and late in the season when that stuff is trimmed down the courses play much easier.
If you are playing TCI on a Monday - Thursday you can play for $48 and get a sleeve of balls.

If I wanted to, could I get onto Ames CC or Ballard CC? Either of those worth playing?
