Correction: I was the C15 "Carved" I tried.

That’s the exact one I’ve been looking at getting.

Sounds like I need to make a trip up to Kyle’s in Ankeny ha
They have a location in Waukee. I’ll check to see if they have this fancy gel seat thing too.

As someone mentioned in this thread, you can measure your sit bone at home. Typically a couple pieces of cardboard, sit on it leaving forward like you do on your bike and you will eventually have 2 marks to measure to determine saddle size. I didn't find this method effective btw, however , it might work for you. Get a fit at Kyle's bikes original store in Ankeny is money well spent.

Got measured at Erik's Bike here in Twin Cities and first fit was too narrow, had to exchange for a size wider even though I am a lean and "narrow" guy.

The last time I was there at the Waukee location they did not. Just the Ankeny store.

Cool, weather is finally warming up. Not cool, I still need new tires for the road bike. Got through last few rides last fall with an old worn out tire I kept as an emergency spare in the garage and, of course, never got around to ordering the new tires.

Was thinking of moving from 25c to 28c, seems to be a trend and would probably be a better ride for me, mostly 25-30 miles rides in the city streets/trails. Only thing I forgot was my brakes. Not sure if these have enough clearance. They measure right at 28mm when opened up for tire/rim change. I guess it's close enough and I could push them through but now vacillating between 25 and 28 again.

28 will be tight on the older road bikes but go with 28 if you can. You won't really even notice much of a rolling resistance difference but will improve ride quality.

My girlfriend only rides her road bike for Ragbrai as we ride our gravel/touring bikes 95 percent of the time. We switched hers from 25-28 two years ago and made a world of difference for her. Much more confident in rough stuff since she is now mainly used to her Cutthroat. Her brakes only stretched to 28 but we get them through. You won’t regret it it, nice cheap way to upgrade the ride of the bike.

My wind curse is still alive and well in 2023. Was in Mexico for three weeks and it was insanely windy the whole time. Now that bike season is here I see the wind is gusting in the 20's today and 30's tomorrow just to **** with me since it's going to hit 80 both days than off to raining times and 50's.

BTW, ordered the 700x28's for the roadie.

Yeah, it sucks but normal for Iowa in the Spring. Had a road ride planned with the wife but she opted out to ride the trainer instead and I'll go ride in the woods on the mtn bike.

First ride of 2023. Rolled out 22 miles on the hybrid. Did not die.

Actually went better than I thought considering I really didn't ride at the gym this winter like I had planned. Strava said it was my slowest ride ever so maybe that had something to do with it! CatEye had gone DeadEye so no speedometer and guess I went easier than I might have if I could have seen my speed. Plus I am OLD.

Stopped at bike shop during ride to get an estimate on adjusting the hydraulic brakes on my Specialized hybrid. Didn't even get to the "$" part. The wait time of 2 to 3 weeks sort of axed doing it. Will hold off till later this spring. My old man annual routine is to ride the hybrid early in the season until I get lungs back and legs under me some and than transition to the road bike. I'll just take the hybrid in later. 2 to 3 weeks, just nope.

Note: Glad I WASN"T riding the roadie yesterday. Crevasses and potholes (one hard hit, yikes).

I rode 22 on Saturday with a strong south crosswind. Strava gave me a couple personal bests, which I though I struggled on. I guess riding in the gym did payoff for me. I have the CatEye on my roader just trying to figure out how to reset it. Downloaded the sheets from their website so I'll get it figured out. Debating on going out today yet, but the 30 mph is telling not to.

Don't know if you're dead set on a brand name but I've been really pleased with these Amazon specials.

My wife bought a nice pair of Pearl Izumi and some Baleaf brand biking shorts. She keeps going back to the Baleafs.
Ha I actually do have 2 of the exact pair you linked.

I'm not set on a name brand and I'm not super unhappy with those from Amazon.
I seem to deal with a fair amount of soreness/pain after about 20 miles. I'm not a heavy biker, but I'm probably able to ride 40-50 miles/week in the summer.
My one complaint with the Amazon brand is the pad seems to sit really far forward, and tends to continue working forward as I ride. I do stop to adjust.

I'm upgrading a few things this year and thought I'd splurge on a pair of bibs to see if they make a difference.
I'm also getting refitted for my bike and fitted for a new saddle.

Ozarks....any good cycling around there? Everything I've researched says that answer is no. Golf yes, cycling no.
