This is exactly what I’m worried about if they don’t can her. Even if she’s not, as soon as the student section gets wind she’s a hawk fan or they perceive her to be a hawk fan: game over.

I don't think the point is to energize the crowd though. Or at least it shouldn't be, and I think that's where yesterday was off the mark a little. It should be an entertaining presence to help keep the crowd engaged. That isn't the same thing as trying to manufacture energy when there isn't any.

This is spot on and what Iowa State always misses on. A lot of these things are really easy. Go to a professional sports game. Take notes on what the crowd enjoys. Steal. It's really freakin simple. Put on the Lion King music and let fans raise their kids above their head. It works every time. THere are so many simple in-game gimmicks, but we choose ad reads with more volume.

This is spot on and what Iowa State always misses on. A lot of these things are really easy. Go to a professional sports game. Take notes on what the crowd enjoys. Steal. It's really freakin simple. The same 5 ads. Some bank no one uses. Some seed company that ain't applicable to most people, and the same dental company.

If it's more than $0, it's a waste. Although she did do some advertising, so the AD is getting some $$ there.

The dance squad would be more entertaining and keep the money in the university. The pigeon flying around the South end zone was more entertaining than her trying to feign enthusiasm. Move the students back if they want more entertainment and excitement.

I hate how they feel like the sheep need to be distracted the entire game. We have to listen to rap music between many plays, we get the screaming hawkeye lady trying to hype us up on the big screen (and she was insufferable by the way)…it gets old.

Maybe we just want to sit and enjoy our beer and talk to our friends between plays sometimes.

I honestly had a difficult time having a conversation with the person next to me. It’s not necessary to crank up the volume so much between plays.
