Kyven Gadson - East High waterloo
I have watched this kid wrestle since he was a young lad. He has alot of promise, great wrestling skills and an even better off the mat attitude. His dad is Willie Gadson, all american for us in the 70's. Im not for sure if were recruiting him but I think he would be a great fit for us in the upper weights down the road.

David Taylor from Ohio is ranked second nationally at 135
I would say him and Weatherman look to be the best coming in next year. Younger guys from the state Evan Knight and Gadson as mentioned above. Maybe we should recruit Michael Moreno if we aren't already.
It would be nice to create a Weatherman-ISU connection as he has a couple younger brothers who seem to be pretty good grapplers, at least thats what I've heard.
idk if we are recruiting valleys(i think) 160 pounder, but we should because he beat St. John (iowa recruit) from Iowa City West.
That was Roosevelt's 160-lb guy...Nicholson. Going to Old Dominion, where his older brother is currently wrestling.
because he isnt a national champ type talent. I watched him wrestle this weekend, and he is D-I for sure, but he is no blue-chipper.

I know he is already on the team and was redshirted this year but he was a monster for Waverly-Shell Rock last year. I can't wait to see him wrestle for the clones.

If you go to youtube and type in Luke Macchiaroli wrestling I think there are a couple of matches posted of his third state championship he just won. He just destroyed the field in Arizona this year. I believe he will be attending Virgina Beach at the end of the month. I see him as a potential national champ over the next couple of years.
I believe the Weathermans are two brothers and a cousin. But would agree that the family has some serious wrestlers that did very well at state meet.
No to mention I think there are other members of that B-H team that are probably high D1 talent also.

Nope, WSR stuggled before Rick Caldwell came in. He has a great history prior to WSR but I can find any details. I know he coached at Ames high and I think Clarinda or Clinton. That is what I was wondering. I have friends who just moved there and their kids are in peewee wrestling or whatever it is called, and they are having a blast! Pretty cool they could repeat with losing that much talent.
I was on Rick Caldwell's wrestling team for his first three years at Ames High. He's a great wrestling coach; unfortunately, I can't say we accomplished anything like what he has done at WSR. I do think that success in a high school program is largely a function of how big wrestling is among elementary aged kids in a community. Not too big in Ames.
