FU*K IOWA

It's AI by SI so the article has some problems but good grief what a **** show. 127-7 combined score vs last 4 ranked opponents....

The most hilarious thing is, they think their new OC is going to turn everything around. That they just have to get the right QB...and receivers...and O line...and......

Just finished watching the game. Was hoping for a FranCon, but was disappointed not to see any. Honestly, I think it was due a bit to home cooking and shooting lights out. Was thrilled to hear only ISU fans dominate the chants.

Fran usually only blows his top when Iowa trails. When they are up he's typically a little more reserved but nothing brings out Franny's inner toddler like a 10 point deficit.

These Hawkeye fans think WBB is big. I guess when your men’s team wins lays crappy, your football team is boring AF, you start to think WBB is enjoyable

It's hilarious how they don't realize how big the gap is between the top 6-8 teams and Iowa. NIL is only going to spread that even wider. Caitlin Clark isn't walking through the door to magically make everyone better.

That article is basically porn for ISU fans, which is great. But Mizzou is extremely overrated. They are only ranked because they ended last year 11-2, had their QB returning, and are in SEC.

Choose from below for Mizzou's best win this year-
  • 6-6 Oklahoma by 7 AT HOME
  • 6-6 Arkansas by 7 AT HOME
  • 7-5 Boston College by 6 AT HOME
  • 6-6 Vanderbilt by 3 in double overtime (ROAD WIN!)

This will absolutely be a 1-score game and Iowa will be way more motivated. Take Iowa and maybe tease it up to +9. Or go bananas, tease it the other way and take Iowa -3 with lots of juice.

Their receivers aren't good, they have no clue who their QB is going to be, likely going to be the kid from Auburn + Sullivan as their "dual threat" guy, and they lose their safety blanket Kaleb Johnson. Defensively they lose a lot.

I think this game is going to be very ugly. Iowa is likely going to play a banged up Sullivan and maybe that 4th string and will be without KJ.

Funny that all I keep hearing about is retiring Clark's #22 jersey on Feb 2nd. Hawk fans must really have a lot to look forward to the next few months.

That Vandy game was at home, but your point still remains. Mizzou should of also beat South Carolina on the road. Regardless, I think Mizzou is better than Iowa.

It's an absolute cartoonish joke the way they carry on about WBB and Wrestling.

Heck, I'm an Iowan who wrestled as a kid, and I loved going to the barn with my Dad to watch State every year.

I also coach my niece's travel basketball team, and I will likely coach my daughter's too.

Even then, wanna know the dirty little secret we're not allowed to say?

Relatively speaking, College Wrestling and WBB basically don't matter, like at all. I have zero problem with it. In the grand scheme of college sports entertainment, nobody cares about wrestling or wbb, nor should they.

Even at their best, it is not even remotely the same as football or men's basketball. It's just not even debatable. The only reason they watch it is the same reason I sit through games or musicals for my kids, except sadder.

You couldn't pay me to go to that same production put on by some other High School kids I don't know. It's transparently weak and narcissistic to try to prop it up as some kind of thing we should care about just because they are good at. It is so cringe. Clark is gone. Get over it.

Take away Kaleb Johnson and this offense was just as bad as they have been since losing Nate Stanley. The problem is going to come to the surface again next year with how bad it is.

I could give a rat's ass about Mizzou. This is all about Kirk being complete DOGSH*T against competition with a pulse. Mizzou isn't great by any means but they have a pulse. Iowa will get their doors blown off like they do in every bowl game and it won't be close.

Obviously Iowa fans gravitated to WBB because of Clark but the fact that they are still all in is just dumb. Iowa has sold out every home game for the last 2-3 years and the program still loses a ton of money. All of the ticket revenue has been in the resale market, the actual sold seats are really cheap. Beth is in a real pickle with this because ultimately she knows that Iowa needs to much stronger fan support for the men's game but she's afraid to say it.

I've never been to Carver (hope to keep that up) but on TV it looks like it's 75% stairs. Total sh*thole.
In general, big dug-out bowls were popular in the 70s and early 80s. You got a lot of bang for your buck as they are cheap and easy to build and maintain, and they are undeniably functional for getting a large crowd in a small space.

We are very lucky Hilton bucked that trend. The downsides weren't going to be readily apparent until some time later.

They are tough to renovate and upgrade. They create a very bad environment for premium seating. The best seats in the house are the furthest from the amenities. The slope needs to be relatively gradual to ensure structural stability. The top seats are going to be set back quite aways with people walking up to the concourse and behind you milling about.

Even Kansas State acknowledges these short comings in design. The biggest thing that shows Iowa just doesn't care is the fact that at least KState enclosed the seating area with a wall all the way around separating it from the concourse. This would be a relatively cheap and easy fix that would at least increase the in-game environment by making it louder.

Instead Carver keeps it wide open so you can just stroll around the railing while you ask yourself why you're paying money to watch the game 10 feet closer while you can smell the free pizza cooking that you actually came for.
