I met my wife at Iowa State.

I also have two brothers, a sister, and a niece that met their significant others in Ames.

I'm curious to hear how common this is amongst fellow CFers.

And, it's the offseason, so embarrasing stories are encouraged.

I met my wife in Jack Trice after randomly having season tickets in front of her. It was the first game back after covid and neither of us were remotely close to sober.

Ended up proposing in the tailgate lots before a game and got married at Prairie Moon Winery to keep the Ames trend going.

Had some classes with my wife and she eventually gave me her # one night at the bar that I prompltly lost. Buddies girlfriend came to the rescue as she knew her and was able to give me her #. After a few years of dating walked around Lake Laverne and got engaged at the Campanile.

My wife and I had crossed paths before ISU at IAYI- which used to be a youth in agriculture event that the State Department of Agriculture put on during the summer on campus then we met again in Maple Hall my sophomore year and her freshman year. Years afterwards we reconnected and got engaged on the coldest night of the year under the campanile. Had our wedding in Ames and the reception at the Alumni Center

My wife and I met in freshman honors seminar (neither of us graduated with honors). My parents also met at ISU. And my oldest is currently at Drake but is transferring to ISU next fall partly to be closer to their significant other.

Met my first wife, as seniors, at Tork's Pub-we both worked there when it first opened up. Got divorced 24 years later. Roy Clark singing "Thank God and Greyhound You're Gone" is one of my favorite funny songs.

Shortly after the divorce, my son and I got tickets for Roy's show at his theater in Branson. We were in Branson for a family reunion at my Mom's place. We ended up with front row seats not more than 10 feet from the stage. He sang that song while standing right in front of us and looking down directly at us. I still think that my sister called the theater ahead of time and arranged for them to give us those seats and to tip Roy off! :D
