Friday OT #2 - Crappy-Cable-And-Chill

Janny is less-than-enthused when I randomly drop Tombstone quotes ("It's like playing cards with your sister's kids or something!") in real life. Or when I just say them along w/the movie. That movie has so many great quotes!

I imagine his reaction is similar to my wife's when I do the Provasic routine. Added bonus, my MIL hates Harrison Ford, so if it's on and she's at our place, a battle of wills ensues.

Smokey and the Bandit. Burt Reynolds got top billing, but Jackie Gleason, Jerry Reed, and Sally Field are the stars. It's the same Sally Field who's won two academy awards, and played The Flying Nun, Sybil, Mrs. Gump, Aunt May, Mary Todd Lincloln, Gidget, etc. She's incredible.

It'll be on Showtime pretty frequently. I used to have Directv with a ton of channels, now I have Vue, so I don't really see it a lot anymore.

I saw the question, thought to myself "Shawshank and Forrest Gump is about it", then saw the movies people were listing and realized my own list was quite a bit longer.

Joe Dirt. I can't believe that is on my list but I stop. Every. Time.

What movies will you always watch if they're on TV and you come across them?

I don't sit down and scroll through channels super-often, but if I see any of the following, game over:

- League of Their Own
- Tombstone
- Clueless
- Seven

There are a few others to which I'm always drawn (mostly by Paul Thomas Anderson or Wes Anderson), but they're too long and I can't invest that long.

Wow great list. Agree with all of them.

I'd add Sandlot for sure, and I feel bad for saying this, but Big Trouble in Little China.

Duplicating a lot of examples already listed. If I'm surfing and encounter these, I'll watch from whatever point in the movie until conclusion.

Jaws (seemed to be on cable more often 10 or 15 years ago)
Fargo ("I wanna be in compliance!")
Psycho/Rear Window/(General Hitchcock marathon action)

F&F 1 for me, mostly because I live my life a quarter mile at a time so I get it.
