Franchise Ideas

Hot Harry's is pretty good, a little bit of a different take on burritos. Six of the seven are in Massachusetts and New York, but there is one in CR. I'd go more often if it was a little closer to my house.

This list begins and ends with Buffalo Wild Wings. Period. End of story. I will keep you in business myself. There is NO WAY you could fail in a collegetown like Ames.

Nobody has mentioned Chinese style fast food. Burgers, wings & tacos. Maybe why there was another thread on obesity in Iowa. A family member owns several franchises next to California U's campuses. Chinese & Frozen Yogurt places are wildly successful, the lines stretch out the door. Chinese is served in edible bowls and Yogurt is self serve. Low number of employees. Located on edge of campus across from park. Location.

Waffle House! I don't know why there aren't any in Iowa but it is the one place that I eat at every time I am in KC. Those things have to be huge profit centers.

I say if not potbelly (cool college vibe small chain) or buff wild wings (raised the bar via wings/burgers with a great "family" atmosphere...why not Hooter's? Started by Iowa Stater's, just think of the talent you'd be able to pull in with ISU college gals...my lord...screw DSM...I'd drive up everyday for lunch.

PLEASE!!!

I think you need to forget about the food business. What you need is a Lion's Den or a Romantix franchise, that way you can take your work home with you.

eh, Chinese is well covered in Ames. Maybe not Chinese "fast food" but you can walk into CHC, Cocost, or May House and walk out 5 minutes later with a great meal for $6.

Here you go. How about a place where you make your own pizza? You give the customers the dough. They smashit, they pound it, they fling it in the air. And then they get to put their sauce and they get to sprinkle their cheese. And then - they slide it into the oven. It's all supervised. You know this business would be big.

We cannot give the people the right to choose any topping they want! Now on this issue there can be no debate!

How about OP (Other Place). There are a few of them around and they satisfy the requirements: beer, pizza, wings, sandwiches, sports on lots of TV, and great relationship with local colleges.

I believe they are all run by someone in the family.

Seems redundant to Welch Ave/Pizza Pit...unless you were looking to go out on Duff or out in West Ames. I do enjoy OP though.
