Booing officials means fans aren't unhappy with the coach?
ISU fans must really hate Fred and Rhoads then.
My initial post never insinuated that the fans at CHA were unhappy with the coach while being "mad again."

You would be wrong. Most all hawk fans like FM a lot and think he will lead us to better days. Yes they are aware it will take some time.
And ISU has built so many coaching careers.
I think part of Fran's demeanor on the sidelines last nite was a bit of a charade to try and get some passion out of his own fan base....I think thats a smart move. Right now half his battle is on the court and half getting his own fan base to care again.
I think you're giving him too much credit. He's a whiny mother ******, and I believe he's incapable of being smart enough for this kind of premeditation.
Don't get me wrong, I respect some of the enemy's best, I really do. I respect Ferentz, for example. I really thought Fran was going to be another Iowa coach that would be hard for me to root against (i.e. KF), but I do not think this anymore. He is detestable, IMO.
This has nothing to do with his coaching ability. He could be a great coach, I don't know. It's his uppity, snobbish, "I-don't- want-to-go-to-bed" personality that makes me absolutely sick to my stomach.
A lot of people are talking about his post-game, saying he was very classy, and took all of the blame. Are these people ******* kidding me?? His post-game interviews are completely passive-aggressive. Listen to them, or read the transcripts, again. He is really placing blame everywhere but on he and his coaching staff.
I haven't had this kind of acidic disdain for an opposing coach in a long, long time (maybe Hayden Fry).

I just want to open by congratulating Fred. I think he had his team ready. I like his team. They really play together.
I think for us, even though we lost, I think there were a lot of good things in this game for our team. Obviously some things that to me that are disappointing, not the least of which is we seem to continue to have the same struggle over and over. I think that is what is disconcerting to me. When another team goes on a run, we tend to quick shoot the ball, and we did not do a good enough job on Christopherson.
It's my fault. I'm not blaming anybody else.
Maybe we got to come up with better schemes, maybe we have to change who's guarding those guys. You can't let a guy like Christopherson come in here and get 30, okay? I'll take responsibility for that. So at the same time it's those stretches where we try to get it all back at once. That we can talk about. That we can get straightened out.
Lol, how is it you have this much emotion against a guy that just started over there? From what I've seen I think he's a classy guy, but then again I don't really care too much about him as long as Freddy beats him on a consistent basis.I think you're giving him too much credit. He's a whiny mother ******, and I believe he's incapable of being smart enough for this kind of premeditation.

You must have been listening to the wrong post-game then.
I understand being annoyed by his rants on the court. I really do. But, as an Iowa fan, I love it. And this is the type of personality ISU fans have come to love about Rhoads.
Your beef with him blaming everybody but himself is dead wrong though. After each loss, he's taken responsibility. His very first comment was commending ISU and Fred.

I am not concerned about Iowa under Fran at all. He has already diminished up what should have been solid improvement no matter who was the coach.
He was handed a much better situation than Fred, yet has already fallen behind and also cost Iowa a few wins.
The fact he is crazy just adds to the enjoyment.
Handed what? The deck was stacked against him even more than Freddie.
Your comments are puzzling.
Compared to Fred, Fran has done a poor job, especially when Fran was handed a much better situation.
Lick got more out of less (and he would have a better record with that team). Iowa was going to be better regardless of the change. Fran inherited a good situation- a program returning 4 starters and 8 players total. Plus McCabe and Marble were signed, as were players that ended up at Florida and Wisconsin. He was set up too look good. Instead, he somewhat fumbled the transition, and has cost Iowa a few wins this year. ISU probably loses that game if Lick was still there.
Really? Is that why we heard all the booing of the officials last night? If everyone was fine and dandy with either a win or loss there wouldn't have been that much passion shown by the fans in the stands.
Fran's got that alcoholic red-face going for him, which is nice.
