Football Attendance Against Cincinnati

Genuinely curious what is so much work?

For me for example - I leave my house 1.5 hours before the game (45 minute drive then 15 minute walk), get in the stadium 30 minutes before kick off, watch game, drive home while listening to the call in show. Then once back at home listen to the remaining reaction show.

I don't park in the lots so I get in and out pretty quick.

My approach is pretty simple.

The work is setting up and tearing down to tailgate, which for many seasons, was more fun than the games. For people doing the GA parking, its difficult sometimes to find a spot unless you get there early in the day. Its now a 15 minute drive down to the stadium, before we moved it was 2:15 minute drive after getting out of the lot.
If you have reserved parking, do not want to tailgate and live close by, it can be an easy day at the game.

I think people are really overlooking the effect the opponent has on this, too. Nobody is gonna get excited about seeing Cincy come into town. Period.

That point of view never has entered my head. I guess making the trip and the hoopla at a game always excites me. Making time in the fall is tough. But I am retiring December 31st.

Just start watching the tkt exchange on game day, there were a lot of 10 -20 dollar tkts along with a few free ones

I go to watch the Cyclones. The opponent is secondary. Wasn’t Cincinnati in the CFP a few years ago?

I can’t figure out why, when all the decisions are made for the convenience of tv, anyone wonders why people stay home and watch on tv. They just announced the six day window for Kansas State. I would think this would kill the sale of any remaining single game seats. Would you buy tickets not knowing what time the game is? Even if you are on the fence, you might as well wait until next week. Then you’ll have a better weather forecast and you’ll know the outcome of the games this weekend. If there is an over/under on attendance, I’d take the under.

Blum made a good point on the pod with Williams. The players and coaches still get up and go to practice at 5am. It's not over for them and that showed on Saturday. This team still has everything to play for. Themselves, their coaches, and yes, the fans. They are still in the running for a championship game. Far from out of it. I know it's the way it is for some fans, but to pack it in and call it quits after the only 2 losses of the season is no bueno.

So certain fans miss the marquee Texas, Oklahoma, Nebraska games which we were typically outmatched - by players and funding. So with that stated - all you naysayers relative to BIG Conference aspirations - place your money where your mouth is. Give the Big 12 time to grow and improve, you will be glad you did.
And for “Rot Set In” ********, stand in front of the players and staff, that work tirelessly to become better, and the injured who sacrifice even more of their time to come back and make you proud of “OUR” Iowas State.

At the end of the day, people who actually want to go are going to go. No point in worrying about people that are only half assing it. I wanted to go to the KSU game and got tickets a few weeks ago likely paying more than I needed to. Oh well. Still excited to watch us play in person.

Enjoy. It’s fun to go to the games. We haven’t missed yet this year, but I know what some are saying about the travel as we are more than an hour and 1/2 away. Glad to see some people that are not able to make it, offer their tickets for reasonable amounts. I think that grows the fan base more than anything else.

I do not have a reserved spot. I park a 10ish minute walk away in a office park so I can avoid the traffic. Not a tailgater so I just go to watch the game. I usually get home at the first commercial of the Cyclone reaction show.

I know when I buy my season tickets all of Saturday's are reserved for a football game so the time isn't important to me.

Living 2 hours away, parking lot gridlock after the game gives me PTSD. If I didn't have season tickets, I would not have even considered going.

Getting out of the lots seems worse to me than in past years. Couple that with a game ending at 10:30, not getting to the car until close to 11:00, and sitting in the lot not moving for an hour and then finally hitting the road only to find half the entrances to main highways blocked are more reasons to stay home.

That being said, I will still be at Farmageddon.

For me personally, I am older and have to drive a good ways to get to the game. Night game fatigue for me is kind of a big deal...Driving at night is definitely tougher than it used to be. Especially if it's raining or God forbid, snowing.Ticket prices are not that big of a deal for me...yet.

I didn't read all the comments but the 2 game losing streak was my #1 thought plus all the injuries the winning possiblity was not looking to positive.. I know Ticketmaster etc has their prices but I think it's to bad that people buy extra tickets when offered by ISU and then think they need to sell them almost double the price they paid for them. How do people acquire all the parking passes that they sell? I inquired about getting another from the ticket office and they said I am allowed 1 with my donation yet there are others that have multiple and get a chunk of change for them. Hopefully we can pull out a win at Utah and get the fans back in to cheer against KState.

At some points we’ll have enough of us that love Iowa State that will show up. Keep it up and there will be more of us in attendance. Then we will hear people complaining about price of tickets. It’s hard being a Cyclone but I love it.
