It's so damn preventable, that's what's wrong.
I think the current NFL model is fine, just get rid of the damn game clock. I do think that if you take the possibility of a tie out of the equation it will completely change how teams attack, especially after both teams have had a possession.
A tie shouldn't be allowed. Someone has to win the game. Go to the college model they fixed it and its more dramatic.
2 pt conversions is not perfection. High school has it best. Start at the 10. 4 plays to score a TD. no FGs
I have no problem with a tie, since they've added overtime. Now a tie without overtime is a different story, me no like that.
I’d be fine with no OT. That’s your only “play football” rule because the nfl’s sudden death is far less real football than college ot with teams creaming their pants at the thought of a fg and acting like a TD is bad.
I hate college OT. You play the game for 60 minutes, and then in OT it's a whole different game.
College model is almost perfect. Go back to the old version and remove the two point conversion only section and it is perfect. If you need to move the starting position back a bit fine but it is so much better.
College OT is great for drama and excitement, but it's basically a different sport than the rest of the game. I think if you've played for 70 minutes and can't win then you deserve to tie.
