If you hit Gilbert you've gone back in time, errr I mean too far.Somewhere cool you should check out is actually Ada hayden park. Just keep going on Grand a mile past the mall and there it is.
Considering what site we're on, don't forget the new football practice field and basketball facility. Along with the basketball facility pretty much that whole area has went from nothing to apartments and suburbia. A lot of Duff south of Lincoln Way is different; Target, Wal-Mart, Panera, Old Chicago, O'Mally's are new or different; the theater, the restaurant that was beside it and the bowling alley, the car wash and uhaul stores by Jiffy lube are all gone.
That place had no business being open in the nineties. I went in there exactly once.
Tell me the Fox Lounge is still open!
What's changed?
I will be there next Monday for the first time since December, 1996. I'm pretty sure I won't recognize most everything.
:biglaugh::biglaugh: What ever are you going to do when you get to a bigger city?HAHA!:biglaugh:
Just gotta know how to navigate it.For a town of 50,000 people, Ames traffic SUCKS. Everyone knows it.

The thing that really screws with traffic is the construction, and it's just about that time again.
I think the idea is for it to keep going south, not sure how far though, maybe S. 16th?The closing of South 3rd/ 4th behind the Hyvee was horrible. The new South Grand is handy though. Do people know if South Grand will extend any farther south, towards S. 16th or looped around towards Walmart?
Well I think there were plans of it at one time going right thru the golf course.
Legends on Lincoln Way has a GREAT view of the campus.. a MUST visit while in Ames.
-keep.
Agreed, I ususually take Haber-13th-Ridgewood-20th-Northwestern to the Mall from campus and S. 4th/3rd-Walnut-S. 5th to the Walmart area.
They need to do something about Lway/Duff/Grand though. I-35 needs two more exits into Ames; one on Lincoln Way, and Bloomington Rd needs extended out to the Interstate (north of the USDA lab).
Was that before the golf course was put in place?
