Just a game that the university and the state pay millions of dollars for this product

Yes it's just a game. Speaking only for myself, my time has more value than watching a poorly managed and poorly prepared team. Everyone is free to do as they please. But if I'm not supposed to care to much, I won't care at all. See you next year!

Correction, the state pays nothing., The department is self funding (arguably)

Neither tuition nor state funding pay for the program.

The program is paid for by
-Tickets
-Donors
-TV revenue
-Marketing Sponsorships and Advertising

The department has the oblication to put together programs to put together the best programs they can and provide for the student athletes education and growth, while building fans support.

Folks are fans for various reasons and sometimes for comibinations of.

Many donate for entertainment and jusge as such. Our fans are so much more loyal than many (or we like to think we are).

I have been donated a little over time for years and will continue to do so, but I sure reach times where I ask myself why, or is this where I want to make this investment.

Challenging.

Messingham already has his office in order for a clean out. The axe will drop soon. I doubt there are other changes.

There is also a mandatory student fee that accounts for 3% or so of the overall athletic budget, so it's not quite so straightforward

mods can we get a title change to ***Official: Fire all the coaches thread***

I'm a little drunk but I'm just gonna say it. At some point CPR is responsible for allowing our coordinators to be ****.

I will say promoting Mess has proven to be a huge mistake and that is on CPR. It seemed like a questionable move at the time that most of this board disapproved of and it has unfortunately played out as I suspected it might. Has set the program back 2 years. If he continues to pull in the recruits committed so far this year then CPR will get a mulligan, but he can't miss on the new OC.

The biggest problem with firing everybody is we may have a great class coming in. If we fire everybody, some of our top recruits may leave.

Messingham needs to go. In this game, Wally's defense has been fine from a coaching standpoint but Broomfield misses an INT and it paints a whole different picture than if he makes it.

This offense is the worst thing I've ever watched. Just horribly coached, mostly by the QB coach. I can give the Oline a slight break because they have been actually pretty decent and they are so ****ed up.

The team looks dejected out there. It's hard to not see that there is something fundamentally wrong within the program.

Great compared to what? We are still only going to have a class that ranks about 1 position from the bottom in the Big 12. Get Gooch and Clinkscales and maybe we have a playable class, but we are not out recruiting anyone.

I am not quite at the "fire them all" level, but anyone that thinks this season is anywhere close to acceptable needs to go, including fans.

Because of our history, we usually put up with some really bad football far too long. I really don't have the answers as to whether CPR should be fired, but it's possible that putting up with losing football is part of why our history has been so poor. Chicken or the egg I guess.
