The school getting a replica and the "real" trophy staying with the Fiesta Bowl would explain why Campbell looked at the director during the presentation and asked if it was ok to pick up the football on top. I thought it was a little weird watching it live, but it all makes sense now.

Campbell may be the first coach to actually take the football off the trophy. The videos I have watched from years past a member of the bowl committee takes the ball off and hands it to the coach.

They had the replica at the Fair so I assume it will be that trophy.

I did not realize that each team that won took home a replica. That seems very strange to me, but maybe that's common??

I was hoping they would present it at the hok game, preferably in the first half, as most hoks will leave by halftime, as they will be getting pummeled so bad.

If it is the real one, the ISU football equipment guys need to get to work on a plan for a sneaky switch at some point. Let the bowl guys take home the replica.

Iowa state already has the replica. It's just a ceremony for the fans. Would be cool for the $1.4 million original trophy to be at jack trice. But I put the odds of that happening quite low.

I was just pondering the insurance costs of shipping that to Ames and back just for a five minute presentation.
