I did the front and sides on April 28. Then did the whole thing on May 1st. I need to get out and get it done today as we have an actual dry day.
Hopefully some at lunch and the rest at the end of the day.

Prodiamine and Flagship the week of April 16thI follow the Lawncare Nut pre-emergent guide and spray a split-application of Prodiamaine 64WDG on my lawn. Works great and is reasonably priced too.

Just mowed for the first time this weekend.
A lawn care company put granular prodiamine on my lawn as a treatment, but after looking into it I didn't like its a herbicide and possible carcinogen so I'm going to try 'The Andersons 7-1-2 innova premium organic fertilizer' instead to see how my lawn does with that as I've read some good things.
I'm sure the prodiamine is fine; I'm just overly paranoid about herbicides on the lawn.

Anyone have any fertilizer and/or weed killers that are ok for dogs? We haven’t had a dog in over 7 years and just got one and am concerned all the stuff I normally throw on it will be bad for the dog.
I mowed monday and again today. Grass grew over 1.5" in 3 days!
The Scott’s stuff I’ve been using says to keep pets off until the dust settles for the fertilizer and 24 hours on the weed and feed. Haven’t really had an issue working around that.
Also, i believe the hose spray weed b gone stuff is ok after it dries.
Grass growth is insane right now. Mowed just a few days ago and if I didn't mow today I think I would have lost the yard.

I used to water my lawn in past years. Not going to do it anymore. I put down crabgrass preventer at the appropriate time this spring. Yard looks as good as it can without watering. Is there a reason to put down "feed" or anything at this point for the yard? I used to love using Earl May's bag program but tired of paying for applications that I was putting on dormant grass due to heat/lack of rain. Am I better off just riding the summer out and not applying anyting more until fall?

Letting a lawn go dormant is a fine strategy. It needs enough water to keep the crowns alive but not much unless we get a big drought. You can wake it back up in the Fall in September by just watering heavy for 1 week if you don't get a bunch of rain then.
Like @nocsious3 says, that's an economical strategy. Hold off on the fertilizer and only spot spray the broadleaves while waiting for cooler, wetter weather.
